We noticed that ever since Hostinger reduced their prices, many users are closing their accounts with Buffer.
Buffer is an excellent tool. However, it’s primarily focused on publishing and scheduling content. Granted, it does offer other features, but depending on your needs, other tools may be a better fit.
For instance, Hootsuite offers a more holistic all-in-one solution, while eClincher’s reporting is more comprehensive. Whatever the reason you’ve decided to cancel, this article will take you through the process step by step, so you can see how easy it is to get a refund.
Signing up with Buffer was simple. I chose the Pro plan, as I only needed one user and eight social media accounts were more than enough for me to test the platform with.
As I was already inside the admin on the free trial, all I needed to do was “Upgrade to Pro” and enter my credit card details. It literally only took 30 seconds.
Once I’d signed up, I received two welcome emails in quick succession. The first provided some useful tutorials and the second was a jokey welcome email from the team.
Overall, the signup process was smooth, only took a few minutes and immediately provided access to all of the features in the Pro Plan.
You can cancel your account online. It’s straightforward; all you have to do is log in to your dashboard and select “Leave Buffer.” However, if you want to request a refund, it’s a bit more complicated.
There’s no money-back guarantee, but prior to signing up, I checked with support and the operator advised me that there is a “generous refund policy,” meaning if you cancel within a few days of signing up, you get a full refund, but if you’ve been using the plan, you will receive a pro-rated refund.
I applied for a refund on February 19, 2019, via email. I received a response back in less than 10 minutes, asking me politely to verify my credit card so they could process the return.
I replied and within 2 minutes, the refund had been processed and the money was back on my card. The whole process was extremely fast and the operator was polite and friendly throughout.
Conclusion
My experience with Buffer was pleasurable. From creating an account to connecting social media profiles, even the cancellation process, everything was refreshingly simple and definitely beginner-friendly.
Buffer is perfect for anyone who needs a simple publishing and scheduling tool. However, if you’re looking for a vendor who offers an all-in-one solution, I recommend Hootsuite.
