Jimdo is a free website builder that allows you to create a website by utilizing the drag-and-drop system which helps add text, galleries, videos and an eCommerce system into you site. One of the popular questions that we get asked if how to change the header image in your theme, so today we want to address this question and provide you with a definitive answer.
So grab yourself that cup of coffee, recline your chair and let us take 10 minutes of your time to walk you through this simple and effective process.
The first thing you need to know is that the header customisation in Jimdo is so flexible you wont believe it! It’s not just a case of upload an image, and save changes. There is so much more to it.
Choose An Image
If you have an image you want to use then the great thing about Jimdo is that you can upload your own image into your site to use. If you don’t have an image then you can use one of the designs that Jimdo offer in there photo gallery.
Once you have done this you can start to play around with the look and feel of the image.
Adjust the Header
My favourite feature is the Adjust header one as it allows you to really get the image sitting right, and just how you vision it. The following three options are available for you to play around with:
Adjust Header Height
Zoom Header Image
Move Image Horizontally or Vertically
To really make the most of this feature you ideally need to upload an image that is larger than the actual header space.
Add a Logo or Text
The final feature I want to draw attention to is the logo and the text options which allow you to put a finish touch to your header. So far you have chosen an image and then tweaked the image so it is sitting in the header space how you want it to.
The logo option enables you to position your company logo atop the image you’ve selected for your header. There are no significant limitations to this—you can place the image anywhere within the header as desired. Following that, you can easily add a text element underneath it.
The text feature is packed full of sub-features from colours, to sizes, fonts and even styling.
Summary
Creating a website doesn’t have to be hard these days, you can build a website with little or no knowledge of website coding. Changing a header through Jimdo’s interface is simple, user-friendly and they make it as easy and stress-free as possible for you to get what you want, how you want. Visit Jimdo
