Host Install’s old-style but informative website is available in more than 20 languages but is set to English by default. Despite this being a British business, its prices are presented in U.S. dollars.
Features and Ease of Use
Host Install’s shared hosting services are offered on four price plans: Ice (200 GB storage, 2 GB bandwidth), Bronze (500 MB storage, 5 GB bandwidth), Silver (1 GB storage, 10 GB bandwidth), and Gold (2 GB storage, 20 GB bandwidth). Despite the storage and bandwidth differences, these plans all provide the following common features:
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Regular backups
- Unlimited parked domains
- SSL support (certificate sold separately)
- cPanel version 11
- Free migration
The latest version of the cPanel control panel provides a simple, user-friendly interface for managing your website without having any advanced technical skills. With cPanel comes the Softaculous installer that allows you to install hundreds of popular apps just as you would from your mobile phone’s app store. These apps include CMS systems such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, PrestaShop, phpBB, and Typo3.
Support for Cron jobs means you can schedule scripts to run regularly rather than having to execute them manually each time.
Pricing and Support
Host Install’s prices are fair for the limited disk space and bandwidth on offer, and you can pay for plans using PayPal or your credit/debit card. Available billing cycles are monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, or biennial, and you pay a lower monthly cost for longer subscriptions. There is no money-back guarantee as far as I can see.
Although this vendor appears to provide a range of support options (see below), I was disappointed to find that the Main Offsite Support page had missing images, the Internal Support page could not be found, and the Live Support and Phone Support pages couldn’t be reached.
