Eticoweb offers shared hosting, reseller hosting, cloud servers, and colocation. Its shared hosting is divided into three categories; Economical, Professional, and Business with plans that should work for small and medium-sized businesses. The business plan is great especially for businesses that need lots of storage space.
These are the provided features:
- 99.9% uptime
- Daily/ Weekly automatic backups
- Anywhere from 1GB to 1TB storage space
- Up to unlimited traffic
Keep in mind that the automatic backups are not provided to every web hosting customer. Only those under the Professional and Business hosting plans get backups; weekly for Professional hosting users and daily for business hosting users.
You’ll have to take manual backups, but if you’re not on the Business plans, you’re not allowed to use cron, so you can’t even use that to automate the backups.
Web hosting customers can host more than one website on one plan. However, if you’re not on the ETH 100 (Professional hosting) and above, you’ll have to pay a set amount. For those on the plans that allow it for free, you can host 10, 20, 50, or 100 websites before you’re required to pay like everyone else.
Eticoweb provides some pre-installed applications, including WordPress, Drupal, Joomla!, and Prestashop in the control panel. All you have to do is click on the exact application that you want and it will be configured on your domain automatically. Unfortunately, there’s no website builder, so if you don’t want to use an application, you’ll have to write your own HTML.
For programming, it supports PHP and Perl but that’s about it. If your plan is to code with Python, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
Eticoweb provides Plesk as a control panel. This management panel is easy to use, even for beginners. You can easily manage your domains, email accounts, databases, and monitor statistics on it.
Pricing and Support
Eticoweb is hitting you with some high prices for the features they provide, especially in the Professional Hosting plans.
Also, it doesn’t offer one-month subscriptions. Instead, you’ll have to pay for one year if you want to use its web hosting services. To make it even worse, the company doesn’t provide a money-back guarantee, so having to pay such expensive prices for a long term with no refund guarantee is a huge risk.
Customer support is available on Monday to Friday, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. You can call, send an email, or use Skype to chat with an agent. I sent an email and received a response in less than thirty minutes.
