Both Hostinger and HostFav offer a bouquet of hosting services, which could make you think they’re similar. But take my word when I say they aren’t. To help you decide which one to choose from to meet your hosting needs, I decided to put both these providers to test. I used key categories like features, pricing, performance, security, and support to evaluate both Hostinger and HostFav and draw conclusive results. I found my winner in Hostinger.

With Hostinger, you’ll get shared, email, and WordPress hosting along with VPS and cloud hosting.

With Hostinger, you’ll get 1, 12, 24, and 48-month billing cycles though the cheapest rates are available with the longest term. However, its monthly cycle is expensive with the starting plan costing about 4X of HostFav’s cheapest Linux shared plan.

It’s all pretty confusing with HostFav. Its VPS plans come with a 7-day money-back guarantee. However, its “Terms and Conditions” page mentions a 30-day money-back guarantee (without clearly mentioning the plans it’s applicable for).

More freebies, better resources, and advanced features give Hostinger the edge

With CloudLinux OS, Hostinger ensures server stability and efficiency. Its shared plans also come with custom hPanel, a free domain (for the first year with annual or above billing of premium/business plans), LSCache and custom-built sophisticated optimization, LetsEncrypt (SSL) integration, SSD storage, gradually increasing allocated resources (1X-4X), daily/weekly backups (plan-dependent), 1-click auto-installer to install 100+ applications, and SEO-friendly Zyro website builder (free/paid).

HostFav’s two higher shared Linux plans offer a free domain. With the highest plan (Large), you’ll get 1 SSL certificate, a dedicated IP, privacy protection for 1 domain, and SiteBackup Pro for creating and restoring backups. Phenomenal performance and clarity in its uptime SLA work in favor of Hostinger

To get a critical competitive edge over your competitors, your website needs to be hosted on a server that’s the closest to your target customers. With Hostinger, you’ll have multiple options as it has Tier-3 datacenters scattered all over the world. But HostFav has only two server locations in New York City and Freemont (California). Finding fault with Hostinger’s robust security is difficult. From the usual fare like SSL and automatic backups to the more advanced features like Imunify360 or Bitninja (WAF), clever firewall rules on switch level, account isolation with LVE containers, anti-DDoS protection on switches with Wanguard, HTTP/2, and server monitoring in real-time, you’ll get them all.

You could also use Priority Support (paid) to get preferential treatment whenever you need support.  I tried Hostinger’s live chat a couple of times and got an almost instantaneous reply each time.

HostFav offers support via a 24/7 call center, live chat, support tickets, and email (via a pre-sales contact form). Its live chat was unavailable when I tried but I was able to submit my pre-sales questions. However, they weren’t answered.
