Features and Ease of Use
DeDoHo is a full-service hosting company selling shared hosting plans. These packages come with the following core features:
- 100% uptime per month guarantee
- Daily R1Soft data backup
- Free web.id, .y.id, .com, .net, .org, .info, or .biz domain
- Unlimited add-on domains
- Free SSL certificates available
- Up to 5000MB disk space
- Unlimited bandwidth per month
The servers use robust Intel Xeon processors and SSD storage for faster disk read/write speeds. CloudLinux is used, which isolates your data from your neighbors and protects you from spikes in traffic, as well as LiteSpeed Web Server to enhance the performance of your website.
I was advised by customer service that the servers are all co-located in U.S. and U.K. data centers, so that does raise the risk resources will be oversold and response times to issues will be slow. But there’s a generous 100% uptime guarantee, remarkably backed by one-day compensation for every 60 minutes of downtime, up to a maximum of one month, which significantly minimizes any risks.
As well as the usual features (MySQL, FTP, and phpMyAdmin), you’ll get support for Ruby on Rails, cURL, and Cron jobs. There’s even a bonus Cloudflare CDN and Attracta SEO tools.
Likewise, if you’re a beginner, there are two website building tools – RVSiteBuilder and
Breezi Website Builder – and 220 free premium WordPress themes.
Pricing and Support
The prices are affordable but do take into account that most everyday webmasters will likely need to take one of the three top tier plans to get enough disk space. However, with unlimited bandwidth, subdomains, and add-on domains, as well as a free SSL and domain, the plans are generous.
Plans can be bought in anything from a one-month to three-year terms, with good discounts if you purchase a longer term up front. There’s a relatively small seven-day money back guarantee, but it’s something at least.
Support is accessed via phone, email, text message, and live chat from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as a substantial knowledge base. I contacted support on live chat at around 7:00 p.m. local time on a Monday night. The operator picked up straight away and despite stating they only knew a little English, answered all of my questions in full.
