Canadian company Cartika also has a presence in the United States. Its services are aimed at enterprises that already know what they want when it comes to cloud computing and managed servers

Overview

cartika main

Cartika has been providing web-based solutions for over 15 years. It was primarily founded as an application hosting and support company but later introduced hosting when it purchased its own servers. Cartika currently has data centers located in Dallas and Toronto, and it offers a myriad of services using the best technologies.

This vendor’s website is in English.

Features and Ease of Use

cartika 1

Cartika offers IaaS, public cloud, private infrastructure, and managed services with fantastic features that include:

  • Linux and Windows OS support
  • Private cloud
  • Backups
  • Cloud load balancers
  • SSL certificates
  • Intel Xeon CPUs
  • SATA disks
  • Dedicated IP addresses
  • Free ‘in’ bandwidth and up to 10,000 GB ‘out’ bandwidth
  • MySQL databases

All of its cloud server packages feature a 99.99% uptime guarantee, and it also offers the user-friendly cPanel control panel, PHP support, SSL certificates, and domain registration.

Note that Cartika is not for beginners who want simple shared hosting with a web building tool and one-click installer. It’s more of an enabler for tech-savvy businesses who already know what they’re doing with cloud computing, infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS). That said, they offer a range of ‘managed’ plans whereby they will keep your WordPress, Magento, or other hosting applications up and running on solid servers.

Pricing and Support

Cartika

If you are looking for simple shared web hosting, you’ll think that Cartika’s prices are astronomically high. But that’s not what this business is about since its services are aimed at enterprises which want solid servers running on impressive infrastructure; enterprises that will be happy to pay even more money for additional services such as SSL certificates and the Cartika CDN.

Cartika’s is a subscription-based hosting service that allows you to pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or yearly by credit card or PayPal. There is no trial service and no money-back guarantee except on a case-by-case basis by special request in writing.

According to its SLA’s, Cartika assures 100% uptime on cloud servers and 99.9% uptime on shared and reseller hosting (excluding scheduled maintenance). In the latter case, Cartika will credit 50% of your monthly fee if uptime falls below 99.9% in a calendar month and will credit 100% of your fee uptime falls below 99%.

Cartika has a support portal that allows you to sign in and submit tickets. This portal also provides a surprisingly well-stocked knowledgebase. You can initiate a live chat at any time to ask technical or sales questions. I tested the chat in the middle of the night and was connected immediately to an agent who answered my question, and who then transferred me to another agent to provide an even more comprehensive answer (and an upsell).

Bottom line on Cartika

Cartika is now a cloud computing company that no longer offers traditional shared hosting services for beginner webmasters. This highly professional and responsive provider could be exactly what you’re looking for if you “already know what you’re looking for” in terms of IaaS, PaaS, and managed servers.

Pros

  • 24/7 support
  • Minimum 99.9% uptime guarantee
  • Good knowledge base

Cons

  • No simple shared hosting plans
  • High prices

Cartika can manage your servers and more
