Note that Cartika is not for beginners who want simple shared hosting with a web building tool and one-click installer. It’s more of an enabler for tech-savvy businesses who already know what they’re doing with cloud computing, infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS). That said, they offer a range of ‘managed’ plans whereby they will keep your WordPress, Magento, or other hosting applications up and running on solid servers.
Pricing and Support
If you are looking for simple shared web hosting, you’ll think that Cartika’s prices are astronomically high. But that’s not what this business is about since its services are aimed at enterprises which want solid servers running on impressive infrastructure; enterprises that will be happy to pay even more money for additional services such as SSL certificates and the Cartika CDN.
Cartika offers a subscription-based hosting service where you have the flexibility to pay on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or yearly basis. You can make payments using your credit card or PayPal. It’s important to note that they do not provide a trial service, and their money-back guarantee is only available on a case-by-case basis upon special request in writing.
According to its SLA’s, Cartika assures 100% uptime on cloud servers and 99.9% uptime on shared and reseller hosting (excluding scheduled maintenance). In the latter case, Cartika will credit 50% of your monthly fee if uptime falls below 99.9% in a calendar month and will credit 100% of your fee uptime falls below 99%.
Cartika has a support portal that allows you to sign in and submit tickets. This portal also provides a surprisingly well-stocked knowledgebase. You can initiate a live chat at any time to ask technical or sales questions. I tested the chat in the middle of the night and was connected immediately to an agent who answered my question, and who then transferred me to another agent to provide an even more comprehensive answer (and an upsell).
