Axfone is a small hosting company that simply isn’t a match for big brands like Hostinger. The bigger hosting companies simply offer a better price for similar configuration.
Axfone started in 2008 in the Czech Republic and has since then expanded to the neighboring European countries as well. They not only serve individual website owners but also large enterprises and corporations. Even though they are based in the Czech Republic, they do offer their website in English as well as a few other languages to ensure they can reach a worldwide audience.
Features and Ease of Use
For those with limited technical knowledge, Axfone has a readymade list of software that can be easily used to run a website. These include Joomla, WordPress, Drupal, Magento, and phpBB among many others. The installation of these applications is quite simple and can be easily managed from the admin panel.
In order to make teamwork possible, Axfone allows multiple FTP user accounts so different teams working in different locations can easily upload files to the website through their own FTP accounts. Password protection for folders is an added feature that ensures teams are only given access to the files they really need. Setting different permissions for the different FTP users is not possible, however.
Email services can be accessed through any web browser and include a mail filter to block the junk mail coming your way. You can also set up email forwarders and receive your website related email in your main email address. The POP3 and IMAP receiving servers ensure you can download the data of these emails from other mailboxes as well. One important thing to note is that the storage space you get in your package is divided equally between the web space and email space.
Pricing and Support
For those users who love freebies, Axfone has a hosting package free of cost that offers 250MB disk space and 500MB bandwidth. This package is perfect to be used as a test to check Axfone’s hosting features before committing long term. The other two packages are named Single hosting and Multi hosting. As the name suggests, their major difference lies in the number of domains allowed, which increases to five in the Multi hosting package. The 20GB disk space in the Single hosting package also increases to 40GB while the number of emails, databases, and bandwidth stays at unlimited in both the packages. The Single hosting package comes at a great price but the Multi hosting package is really a steal and highly recommended if you are looking for budget hosting.
When it comes to offering customer support, the only two ways of getting in touch with Axfone are telephone and email. This is not ideal in today’s world where customers prefer a live chat where their problem is immediately addressed. Users can still access the collection of help articles on their website and try to solve their issues themselves.
