Google’s Duet AI Available for All Workspace Users

Google is making Duet AI for Google Workspace available for the general public. Duet AI is a GenAI-powered productivity tool that can help Google Workspace users write, visualize, or organize their work.

Aparna Pappu, GM and VP of Google Workspace, describes Duet AI as “a powerful collaboration partner that can act as a coach, source of inspiration, and productivity booster.”

This general release means that any of the 3 billion users of Google Workspace can now sign up for a free trial of Duet AI.

Duet AI can summarize content from multiple Google Drive or Gmail sources and generate new content, such as a presentation with all the summary details, including graphs, charts, and images included. Users can also chat directly with Duet AI to get summaries of content in chats or documents.

This tool can help users write a customer proposal in Docs, write an email in Gmail, generate tailored visuals in Slides or create a project tracker in Sheets.

Duet AI’s planned integration in Google Meet will improve meeting participant experience with better sound and lighting and an improved interface with captions that can be translated into 18 languages. Duet AI is also capable of providing meeting summaries for latecomers and can attend meetings on a participant’s behalf.

More than a million trusted testers have been using Duet AI and providing feedback on its capabilities since its introduction in May. Google announced the general release of Duet AI at its Google Cloud Next event, where it also introduced a number of enhancements to its infrastructure and products to support its planned AI growth.

Not part of the general release is the integration of Duet AI in Google Cloud. Announced at Google Cloud Next, Google said it would be expanding the preview of Duet AI in Google Cloud and targeting a general release later this year. Duet AI in Google Cloud can support code generation, help troubleshoot applications and infrastructure issues, and provide best practices to support data security.
