Please describe the story: what sparked the idea and how was it involved so far?
All it takes is one product to change your life – This isn’t just a saying for dropshippers, it’s the actual truth. So as a dropshipper, I was spending most of my time always looking for products to sell on my stores.
In a short time, I had dozens, if not hundreds of potential winning products saved up and just waiting for me to test them…
At that time the products weren’t at all organized and I still had to do plenty of research for each one so I thought to myself: “It would be great to have my own place where the products are organized and already have analytics & data I can easily access to save time.”
And this is what I did – I built a private platform, only for myself, with the winning products I wanted to test + their data.
I shared this idea with my closest friends and told them about this platform I built for myself, and quickly after that they wanted to check it out too. It wasn’t long after and my private platform wasn’t private anymore because it was shared with a lot of other dropshippers.
The platform went viral and the feedback I received on it was amazing and it was then when I decided to put all my effort into it and develop something dropshippers really needed. And the rest is history.
How do you envision the future of your industry?
Nowadays, everything is moving online and more and more people prefer shopping from the comfort of their homes. As you already know, online sales during this epidemic were at their all time high and e-commerce companies such as Amazon showed a tremendous growth, way above the predictions.
And it’s not just Amazon, other smaller businesses who were smart enough to have a good online presence had their best year ever in sales as well!
COVID-19 epidemic is just a quick preview for what about to happen in the near future where physical shops are not relevant anymore and everything is done online.
E-commerce will keep on growing and with that the general move toward the online, and soon people will need to decide if they want to adapt the online to survive or stay in the past and die.
Which trends or technologies do you find to be particularly intriguing these days?
When you order clothes online, you don’t have the option to try them on. It’s possible the item you ordered won’t be the right fit for you and you’ll eventually need to return it back. This is the main reason why the fashion industry has such a high return rate which leads to a big money loss the owners would really LOVE to avoid.
The solution to this problem, which is already working on some big fashion online retailer stores, is allowing customers to virtually measure clothes by using real-time image processing technology and augmented reality. I’ve seen how this works on my local news channel and I was amazed how well it performs by just using a regular smartphone, and not some fancy virtual reality tech.
How has COVID impacted your customers and business?
In the first 2 months of this pandemic, when medical equipment had the highest priority and China was half closed, dropshipping was difficult because of long shipping times and closed factories.
Once it all settled there, our users really hit it hard and were making some crazy numbers dropshipping. On top of that, dropshipping was trending because of the success other users had so we gained new & really hungry users.
With so many people locked down and working from home, online shopping became a MUST and our users made sure to not miss this opportunity and strucked the iron while it’s still hot.
One thing I learned during this pandemic is that you can’t stop the online economy – People will keep buying online and delivery comapnies will keep delivering.
Do you have a special message for our readers in these difficult times?
Unfortunately, this pandemic has made a lot of people lose their jobs or become short on money. My advice, it’s something I tell to everyone I meet, is to try and learn about dropshipping and online marketing so you always have an option to make extra income online.
