Squarespace Introduces Squarespace for Pros
Website building platform Squarespace introduced Squarespace for Pros. The new platform, unveiled during Squarespace’s annual Circle Day event, is designed for professionals and agencies that build websites for clients.
“We are excited to announce a new professional-grade experience that brings together advanced design capabilities, productivity features, and business management solutions,” reads the company’s official announcement, adding it represents its “most significant investment to date in supporting professional designers and agencies.”
Squarespace for Pros, which the company describes as “powerful enough for pros, easy enough for clients,” offers advanced design tools and extended flexibility compared to its main platform, which is primarily designed for beginners who want to build websites without coding.
Squarespace claims that Squarespace for Pros offers a better balance than coding from scratch by giving developers the flexibility they need, while remaining simple enough for clients to manage on their own after hand-off.
Squarespace for Pros differs from the beginner-focused platform with its Finish Layer design toolkit. It includes vibrant animations, deeper styling, and layout tools for greater flexibility, more control over mobile optimization, and new editing capabilities that simplify workflows.
Designers can also import external fonts to maintain brand consistency for clients. The platform also offers access to additional APIs for extended functionality. Moreover, it supports custom code via code blocks, a CSS editor, and custom code injection.
Like its main platform, Squarespace for Pros includes built-in e-commerce, scheduling, payments, invoicing, and other tools, eliminating the need to make multiple third-party systems work together in harmony. The sites are also designed to be SEO- and AI-friendly, along with built-in search tools that help clients maintain strong rankings after hand-off.
Freelancers, agencies, and other creative professionals can earn commissions, discounts, and exclusive benefits through the Squarespace for Pros partner program, Circle.
Squarespace for Pros comes with an expanded dashboard that unifies project oversight, client collaboration, and day-to-day workflow management. The partner program status, including points, referral payments, product updates, and insights, is also accessible directly through the Pro dashboard.
Squarespace’s venture into professional design follows the steps of its competitor Wix, which made the move in 2023, with the launch of Wix Studio.
Squarespace, much like Wix, is evolving beyond a traditional website builder by expanding into business services. Recently, Squarespace introduced Squarespace Capital, which offers flexible funding solutions for its users.
