Alibaba Partners With Wix To Help SMBs Expand Globally
Global business-to-business (B2B) marketplace Alibaba and SaaS platform Wix announced a strategic partnership. The collaboration encompasses several key initiatives designed to support digital entrepreneurs, new businesses, and SMEs in expanding globally.
According to Wix President Nir Zohar, the partnership is mutually beneficial: “It opens powerful new opportunities for our users to tap into international wholesale markets, while also giving Alibaba.com merchants the ability to create stronger, more direct connections with their customers.”
As part of the collaboration, the Alibaba.com seller app will be available within Wix Marketplace, enabling Wix merchants to become Global Gold Suppliers (GGS) on the ecommerce platform. The integration automatically syncs products and orders between the two platforms, simplifying global commerce management for Wix merchants.
Upcoming features, such as AI-powered product discovery, automated onboarding processes, and intelligent product matching, are expected to further accelerate global commerce, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses that often face greater barriers to entering international markets.
“Our partnership with Wix simplifies the complexities of international trade, offering small businesses streamlined solutions for sourcing, selling, and expanding their global reach,” Kuo Zhang, President of Alibaba.com, said in a press release.
The strategic partnership also aims to connect Wix merchants with vetted suppliers that offer high-quality products tailored to their unique needs. It promises to facilitate faster market testing, innovative product bundling, and reliable private labeling opportunities.
On the other hand, Alibaba sellers will gain direct access to Wix’s website creation platform to build branded direct-to-consumer and B2B storefronts, along with Single Sign-On (SSO) capability. Additionally, sellers will be able to utilize Wix’s ever-growing toolkit, which includes e-commerce, marketing, and AI content generation tools, to strengthen their brand identity and directly engage with consumers and business buyers.
These initiatives will roll out in phases, ultimately supporting global trade across more than 200 countries and regions.
