How and when was Reputation Pros started, and with what idea in mind?

Reputation Pros really started organically. I began getting a wave of inquiries from a couple of law firms and family offices. The lawyers would successfully win cases for their clients, but the negative press still lingered online and continued to cause issues for them. They needed a way to clean up the digital aftermath.

I took on a few of those early campaigns, and when they worked, when we were able to push down the negative content and replace it with positive, authoritative material, they started sending me more referrals. What is the online reputation management process like?

What are the differences between business reputation management and personal reputation management?

The core principles behind business and personal reputation management are similar—they’re both about controlling visibility and shaping perception—but the approach is very different.

Personal reputation management is usually more focused on suppressing negative articles, and in some cases, unflattering images or videos. It’s often about cleaning up search results tied to an individual’s name, executives, public figures, or private clients who’ve had an issue go public. The goal is to reshape that narrative so what shows up online reflects who they are today, not a moment in time.

Business reputation management includes all of that, but it also extends into online reviews, local SEO, and brand sentiment across multiple platforms. When we’re working with a business, say, a real estate firm, we’ll analyze the search results for 20 to 30 competitors to identify the domains Google consistently favors. These are the sites we’ll target in the campaign because we know they’ll move the needle.

With business clients, there’s usually more material to work with, positive stories about the company, the founder, the team, or the service. We take that goodwill and amplify it strategically across trusted outlets to create strong, lasting impressions. So while both tracks involve reputation control, the tactics, platforms, and outcomes are uniquely tailored to the client’s goals and public presence.

You also provide PR and SEO services. What can you tell me about that part of your work, and how closely is it related to online reputation management?

PR and SEO aren’t just add-ons to what we do at Reputation Pros; they’re the backbone of effective reputation management. We’ve seen plenty of clients come to us after spending tens of thousands on press placements that never ranked, because no one optimized them.”
