Can you tell us the story behind the founding of Nomeo and what inspired its creation?
Nomeo was founded in 2011 with a simple philosophy: we want to provide domain names to professionals and small businesses at an affordable price and without all the technical hassle. We achieve this by building a highly automated system with a user-friendly interface that masks all the technical complexity, allowing customers to perform most tasks themselves in a simple way. If the customer needs advice or help, we are easily reachable by phone, chat, and email. Thanks to this strong automation, we can keep our prices low. This strategy works well and has led to the satisfaction of many customers. We receive the highest ratings in the sector on websites like Trustpilot and Google Reviews. Although we started as a domain name registrar, we have added more services to our offering over the years at the request of our customers, including website hosting, mailboxes, cloud servers, reseller packages, and more. Over the years, we have built a solid reputation thanks to high customer satisfaction, our ISO-27001certification and ICANN accreditation. With the trust we’ve earned, we now manage over 52,000 domain names, 12,000 websites, and 650 cloud servers. What can you tell me about your hosting services? What makes you the right housing choice for our readers?
We apply the same philosophy to our hosting packages: affordable and simple. We go to great lengths to support our customers. It’s often difficult for customers to distinguish between issues related to the hosting platform and questions about setting up their content management system or webshop software. That’s why we always help the customer where we can, even if the question falls outside the direct scope of hosting. We are the experts, and we can often quickly steer customers in the right direction. To make things easier, we’ve built a lot of extra WordPress functionality into our control panel. This gives customers one central place to manage everything. Moreover… something that convinces many customers is that with a domain name, we offer the first year of web hosting, the web builder, and mailboxes for free. It’s a low-threshold offer that inspires them to start using their domain name right away. What email-based services do you offer?
We offer two options for mailboxes: we have our own email platform based on IMAP, and we offer Microsoft 365. We primarily serve small organizations with more modest needs around email and collaboration. For these customers, an IMAP mailbox is a great solution at a low price. They can read and send emails from all their devices and via webmail. In addition, we provide high-performance spam filtering, which customers can easily configure themselves through our control panel. As our customers’ businesses grow, we support them with Microsoft 365 mailboxes, online services like OneDrive and SharePoint, and software licenses. We set up the Microsoft tenant for them and migrate their existing data to Microsoft. If they wish, we also assist with installing the software on their computers and provide best-practice advice and support. For these additional services, customers don’t pay a single euro more than the standard Microsoft prices. What is Nomeo academy and what can people hope to learn there?
Nomeo Academy is a section on our website where we collect content designed to help customers start or grow their online business successfully. We offer a wide range of resources, including guidance on choosing a domain name, taking the first steps in building a WordPress website, strategies to attract more visitors, and much more. The content often covers the basics, but it’s highly valuable for many customers who are just launching a new business. For them, there are so many aspects to consider—administration, legal requirements, accounting, and more. With Nomeo Academy, we aim to provide a solid starting point for entrepreneurs taking their first steps online. All content is presented in long-read articles and includes practical tips and step-by-step guides that anyone can follow—perfect for those who want to take matters into their own hands. What can we expect from the company going forward? Any upcoming projects we could be looking forward to?
We’ve noticed that customers are facing increasingly stricter requirements around email security to the point that their emails are no longer delivered in the mailbox of their customers and correspondants. To address this, we’ve developed a service that monitors email delivery through a DMARC management platform. With practical advice, we help improve the deliverability of transactional emails and email campaigns. We continue to look for ways to better support our customers in growing their business and achieving their goals. For example, starting in January 2026, electronic invoicing via Peppol will become mandatory in Belgium. We’re exploring how we can offer our customers an accessible and easy-to-use solution to comply with this new requirement. Is there anything else about your work that you’d like to share that we haven’t covered?
We operate under our own brand name, Nomeo, but a significant portion of our revenue comes through resellers and private labels. These private labels are companies that use sell our services and use our control panel but with their own brand name. In this way, we’ve built a scalable model that ensures continued growth for Nomeo and its services in the years to come.To learn more about Nomeo, you can visit www.nomeo.be
