Can you give us a brief overview of NeuCurrent as a company and its journey to where it is today?

NeuCurrent is an AI-powered CRM and omnichannel marketing platform helping small and mid-sized retailers transform first-party data into profitable customer communications. From fashion and FMCG to grocery and luxury resale, NeuCurrent empowers brands to connect with their customers more intelligently through real-time personalization across email, SMS, WhatsApp, and push notifications.

Our vision is to empower mid-sized and small retail businesses with the same level of data intelligence and omnichannel capabilities as major enterprises – but in a way that’s far more accessible and cost-effective.

How does your Customer Data Platform work, and what features does it offer?

NeuCurrent helps retail SMEs to turn first-party customer data into personalised customer communications without needing to have multiple tech solutions and data-savvy teams in-house. We automate the whole process of data-driven omnichannel marketing. So our Customer Data Platform and Omnichannel Communications is a single solution that allows retailers to seamlessly manage customer data and communications from one place.

Specifically, for customer data management, the Platform:
  • Builds a unified customer profile by integrating online and offline data from website, app, ERP, and POS
  • Enables flexible segmentation based on customer behaviours and events in stores and online
  • Measures customer retention using advanced analytics focused on Recency, Frequency, and Monetary (RFM) metrics
  • Creates personalised product recommendations for each customer based on behaviours and preferences

You also offer an Omnichannel Communication platform. What can you tell me about that part of your work?

As I mentioned above, Omnichannel communications are part of a single solution that allows retailers to easily transform customer data into effective personalised engagements with customers. No data expertise or multiple tech solutions are required.

With NeuCurrent, retailers can:
  • Centralise customer interactions through web, app, email, SMS, WhatsApp, and Viber
  • Tailor messages dynamically based on customer segments and behaviors
  • Deliver personalized product recommendations in every customer touchpoint
  • Orchestrate communications across all available and synchronised channels
Using NeuCurrent, retailers can do much more than just communicate with their customers through email and sms. In fact, our clients use push notifications and WhatsApp much more successfully for instant and more direct messaging.

What’s in store for NeuCurrent going forward? Can we expect any new projects or features in the near future?

The next big thing for us is to connect 25,000 local grocery stores with local customers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia through a single marketplace (our partner Qarrib) and the NeuCurrent omnichannel platform. This is a rapidly growing project that we are very proud to be part of. We will be expanding to Europe in 2025.

Local shops are forgotten children of retail, with no digitalisation and no one talking about them. 69% of small and medium-sized retailers still rank low on the digital adoption scale according to the European E-commerce Association.

And yet they contribute to nearly 50% of retail turnover in Europe. This is the next big challenge for retail tech and a big business opportunity at the same time.
