Bottom line on BOOKMARK

While Bookmark might initially seem like the right website builder for your needs, it’s no match for more popular website builders like Wix.

Bookmark is a cloud-based website creation service powered by AiDA, an artificial intelligence design assistant. AiDA eliminates 90% of the pain points associated with website creation by creating the website for the user, then walking him or her through adding content and customizing the site. There are over 650 business types to choose from, so you can build pretty much everything from a fully-responsive online store to a personal portfolio. Simply tell AiDA the name of your business and the industry it operates in, and AiDA will produce a unique, customizable design for your website.

Once you’ve created an account and had AiDA set up your initial website, you’ll be able to access the two main Bookmark workspaces: the dashboard and the site editor. The dashboard gives you access to all of your website’s statistics, Bookmark’s well-crafted site-building tutorials, system news, and the tech support contact form. The site editor is for customizing and adding content to your site. It’s an intuitive WYSIWYG editor with a drag-and-drop block-based design, so it’s straightforward enough to add content. But it’s also got enough functionality that users won’t find Bookmark’s platform lacking in the customization department.

Bookmark is free to use, though with the typical limitations: you can’t connect your own top-level domain and you’ll also have Bookmark ads displayed on your site. If you’d like your own domain, you’ll have to opt for one of the paid packages. There’s the Professional plan, which comes with free hosting, unlimited storage and bandwidth, a free domain & e-mail, SSL certification, and $100 in Google AdWords credit. The Business plan is meant for small businesses and online stores and comes with a free domain, 3 free e-mails, $100 Google AdWords credit, and SSL certification. All paid plans come with full access to their online courses.
