Wix and Square Introduce Restaurant Integration

Ivana Shteriova
Popular website building platform Wix announced a partnership with Square, a well-known payment processing and POS solution, to help restaurant owners across the US, the UK, Canada, Ireland, and Australia streamline online ordering.

The extended integration will allow users to sync their Wix Restaurants website with their Square account.

“Our integration with Square brings a solution to help restaurants get back time that would have been spent on duplicative efforts from using multiple platforms,” Adam Garfield, VP of Wix Restaurants, said in a press release. “Now, restaurants can focus on providing quality service to more customers, generating more revenue, and growing their business,” he emphasized.

Thanks to this integration, restaurant businesses that have a Wix website and use Square for Restaurants or Square POS can now manage their catalog (categories, items, descriptions, and images) and entire menus right from their Wix dashboard. Orders submitted through a Wix website are sent directly to Square’s system, meaning the integration not only reduces manual effort but eliminates any errors associated with manual data entry.

Furthermore, all updates made on Square will automatically sync with Wix. Both systems will also update sales reports, allowing restaurant owners to track their online sales straight from their Square Dashboard.

“It’s now easier than ever for restaurants who already have websites on Wix to shift their on-premise operations to Square,” Vijay Vachani, Global Head of Partners and Developers at Square, explained.

Early adopters of this new feature are singing its praises. Wen Lin, co-founder of Brady’s Sushi and Hibachi, says the integration has “truly improved customer satisfaction and the wait time on [their] busiest nights dropped from 45 minutes to 25-30 minutes.”

Wix introduced a series of strategic partnerships over the past few months. In March, Wix partnered with Meta to merge all communication channels into one inbox, significantly simplifying and streamlining communication management for site owners.

A month ago, Wix also announced an extended integration with Stripe, a commerce payment processor, enabling US-based Wix merchants to use Tap to Pay on iPhone for in-person contactless payments.
