Web hosting company IONOS has introduced an AI text creator within its MyWebsite Now website builder
. The new feature is designed to help small- to medium-sized businesses generate text and headlines with the help of artificial intelligence in a matter of seconds.
“For a technology company like IONOS, artificial intelligence isn’t totally new,” IONOS CEO Achim Weiss says
. “However, we’re proud to integrate AI technology into a product, supporting our customers in industry-specific writing and website maintenance.”
The AI text generator is accessible within the menu of any text field in the MyWebsite Now website builder. Users can utilize the new AI feature in two ways: to generate headlines or text.
For headlines, customers need to provide the tool with a topic and desired length, which can’t exceed 20 words. To prompt the AI text generator, users need to provide information about their industry, specific subject, and other relevant details, including number of paragraphs (users can’t request more than five paragraphs at once). Like with any AI tool, the responsibility to review and edit the generated results falls on the user.
MyWebsite Now’s AI text generator is powered by OpenAI’s gpt-3.5-turbo model
, which is considered its “most capable and cost-effective model in the GPT-3.5 family.” In comparison, OpenAI’s ultra-popular chatbot ChatGPT runs on GPT 3.5 Turbo and GPT 4 models.
With recent concerns over AI and users’ privacy, IONOS mentions that “no personal data is sent to OpenAI, and the API being used is not trained with the information and requests of IONOS customers.” The new AI capabilities are currently in beta and available to Plus and Pro plan users.
IONOS is not the first – and certainly not the most – AI-powered website builder on the market. Wix, another leading website builder, was one of the first to introduce artificial intelligence for its website builder
In 2016, Wix pioneered an AI-powered technology for website design and content creation. Wix Artificial Design Intelligence (WIX ADI) allows users to build websites in a matter of minutes by providing a few details about their business, industry, and features they’d like to see on their site. A few months back, Wix also launched an AI text creator within its editor.
