MyUSACorporation Review: Fast, Low-Cost LLC Formation in 2024?

Foreigner-Friendly LLC Formation but Certainly Not Low-Cost

One aspect of dealing with MyUSACorporation that I truly do appreciate is the transparency of its services. As it claims on its home page, there really are “no shenanigans.” Hover over each mandatory and optional services listed on the order page, and you’ll get a detailed explanation of what’s included in the price and why it’s relevant or useful.

MyUSACorporation is also faster than most to handle and file your paperwork, claiming to do so in 2–3 days. After which, state filing takes a few extra days or weeks, depending on the state you filed in.

MyUSACorporation also caters to foreign nationals wishing to register a US business. With regional sites, multilingual support, and an interface and ordering process designed to specify the eccentricities of company formation by non-US residents and citizens, you’ll find it easier to navigate it all as a foreign national.

That said, I have a real issue with the fact that MyUSACorporation offers no free LLC formation, unlike ZenBusiness’ Starter plan. MyUSACorporation’s order processing fee alone costs more than the starting plan prices of many of our highly recommended LLC formation services. Yet, it includes little more than a business name check (which you can do for free directly on MyUSACorporation’s home page), document preparation, and filing.

MyUSACorporation is a viable option for ad hoc, a la carte LLC formation services, though. With fully customizable plans and tons of competitively priced add-ons, you can hone in on what you really need. A Few Notable Freebies but No Discounted Plans for the Necessities

Though MyUSACorporation lists three packages – Basic, Recommended, and Premium – all of these “plans” are just configurations of various selected services and add-ons, which you can add or remove as needed. Yes, that means that there are no all-inclusive MyUSACorporation packages bundling lots of services together for less – but they do still include some notable freebies.

Professional Filing Document Review

On top of the name search and document preparation, there’s one notable addition to MyUSACorporation’s most basic (and mandatory) Order Processing service: a professional review of all of your filing documents. This feature, along with other Order Processing features, applies to all MyUSACorporation LLC registration packages for a fixed fee.

If the state declines your application due to a filing mistake, MyUSACorporation resubmits your application for free. As state fees are non-refundable, it’s good to know that MyUSACorporation takes accountability for paying these fees if there are filing issues it didn’t pick up.

MyUSACorporation Digital Design Platform Access

The free-to-use Digital Design Platform is a unique selling point of the MyUSACorporation LLC formation service. You get complimentary access to the platform with all MyUSACorporation LLC formation plans, from Basic to Premium. Using this platform, you can create logos, social media posts, ads, a branding kit, and more.

With the Digital Design Platform, you can iron out the visual branding and marketing of your business simultaneously at no cost. That said, there are many free logo and social media content creation tools these days. I think a free website and domain name probably would be of more value.

Free FTC Guardian Basic Membership

One of the more notable freebies is a free Basic FTC Guardian Membership, which is actually worth quite a lot of money. FTC Guardian is an organization that helps you navigate the legalities of doing business online in the USA. With the free Basic FTC Guardian membership, you can embed and display basic compliance documents on your website.

A website is now a must to establish an online presence and reach your audience, but it does come with some liabilities, making compliance guidance handy. The more complex legalities of compliantly selling services, software, and goods online are discussed on higher-tier paid FTC memberships.

Expedited State Filing Services

The state can take anywhere from a few days to weeks to process your business registration. However, MyUSACorporation gives you the option to speed up the process. Its State Expedited Services can shorten state processing to as little as 1–5 days.

However, the availability of this service and exact turnaround times vary from state to state. Luckily, you can review all of this info in your order before paying (and without having to contact support). MyUSACorporation customizes each order page, including these details, according to your chosen filing state and resident status.

Registered Agent & EIN Registration Services

With MyUSACorporation, EIN registration and a Registered Agent are preselected on all plans. Though competitively priced, they’re still two of the most expensive add-on services. If you already have an in-state office or want to save yourself a few hundred dollars, you can easily remove both services from your MyUSACorporation package.

Simple & Fast Registration, Plus Multilingual Pages

The MyUSACorporation LLC formation order process is very easy and fast to navigate. I appreciate that MyUSACorporation makes applying easier for foreigners, including those who don’t speak English. Several regional sites are available catering to several countries and languages, providing details on the entire LLC formation process in the US.

Getting Started With MyUSACorporation

Though not the speediest, the MyUSACorporation LLC formation sign-up process is straightforward. It’s divided into five separate pages. The first page allows you to select your state, resident status, and desired plan. The subsequent order page is for adding or removing services as needed. The next two pages are for adding contact and company info. Then, the last page is for making payments.

The order page lets you select or remove any services except Order Processing. Just remember to tick the box of any freebies you want, as these aren’t preselected. The Company info page is the most time-consuming to navigate, requiring you to add your business and member info. So do have all those details on hand.

During the process, you’ll also be prompted to create a username and password to access your MyUSACorporation account. You can use these details on both the website and app to log in and manage your MyUSACorporation services, buy more, or access support and learning center content.

2–3 Day Order Processing

By default, MyUSACorporation will process your LLC registration order within 2–3 days of submitting it. This helps ensure the state processes it as soon as possible, which can take another few days to weeks.

However, for an extra fee, MyUSACorporation will process your LLC registration paperwork even faster – sometimes, on the same day of receiving it. Note that this service isn’t the same as state expedited filing and you’ll have to pay a separate fee for each of these add-ons.

Global Regional Sites & Multilingual Support

MyUSACorporation offers separate websites containing LLC formation guides and support for customers in the US, Europe, LATAM, and China. You can simply select your regional flag to load the site and get support in your language. However, do note that functionality and languages available are limited on some of the non-US sites, and the order process is still in English.

Smartphone & Device App (Android & iOS)

Once you become a MyUSACorporation customer, you can access your account via the MyUSACorporation app. The MyUSACorporation app is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play, and the Samsung Galaxy Store. Just download it and enter the account name and password you created during the LLC formation sign-up process to log in.

Even if you’re not yet a customer, you can still use the MyUSACorporation app to purchase services, contact support, and access its learning center.

Competitive Prices but No Discounted, Bundled Plans (or Savings)

MyUSACorporation lists three LLC formation package choices. However, they’re not like many of the LLC formation plans you may have compared before. Each package simply consists of various optional preselected services (both one-off and subscription-based) thrown together. For example, if you select the Basic package, the Registered Agent and EIN registration add-ons are preselected. You can remove any of these services before proceeding with your order.

Unfortunately, savings are slim to none with MyUSACorporation. Each preselected service is charged full price instead of bundled together for one set, discounted fee. Even worse, MyUSACorporation doesn’t do free LLC formation.

The only mandatory service billed on every plan is Order Processing. This service includes LLC registration, a name check, and a document review. But take note that most top-rated LLC formation services – including ZenBusiness – will do this for you for free (minus state fees).

If you go for the Premium ZenBusiness package, you’ll get a money management tool, expedited filing, an Operating Agreement, a Certified Copy of Articles of Organization, and a Company Kit & Seal with international shipping – all for a fraction of what MyUSACorporation charges for the same features. Though its prices certainly are competitive, MyUSACorporation’s lack of actual discounted, bundled LLC formation plans lets it down.

Plenty of Support Channels and Stellar Support

MyUSACoporation offers support within the USA and for its US site via the following channels:

Depending on which regional site you’re using, MyUSACorporation support is offered in English (UK and US), Portuguese, Spanish, Estonian, Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, and Chinese (simplified and traditional). The support channels and languages vary per regional site.

Generally, business sites will display a live chat box in the bottom right or left corner. However, on MyUSACorporation’s US website, I needed to click the Live Chat: ONLINE NOW text located on the top menu. Was it trying to hide it? Maybe not, as a pop-up also appeared shortly thereafter, telling me to click to access agents via live chat.

However, a dubious LEAVE MESSAGE button and a subsequent error message left me wondering, “Was this truly live chat or a glorified, defunct contact form?” That’s until I realized live chat was not available at that moment. Okay, MyUSACorporation doesn’t advertise itself as offering 24/7 support, but it certainly shouldn’t be saying live chat is available when it isn’t or to leave a question in its nonfunctioning contact form.

Luckily, my second live chat support attempt (during office hours) was much more fruitful. I was connected in less than a minute, and the agent was super helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable – a rarity these days.

My hopes for getting a response from the actual contact form displayed on MyUSACorporation’s Contact Us page were somewhat dubious. Regardless, I sent a message and actually got a confirmation that it went through. I didn’t have to wait very long for a response. It took the MyUSACorporation support agent 5 minutes to send a very helpful and succinct reply.
