Whether you want shared hosting, server colocation, cloud servers, virtual servers, dedicated servers, or cloud computing solutions, Active Cloud offers it all. Or does it? I’m not so sure since the Hebrew- and English-language website contains a lot of “Lorem ipsum” Latin placeholder text.
Features and Ease of Use
Active Cloud’s website advertises four Linux shared hosting plans, four Windows shared hosting plans (which can’t be bought), four server colocation plans, several VPS plans, and several dedicated servers. You can also get private cloud packages with the IaaS service.
Active Cloud’s four Linux shared hosting plans provide you with:
- 1 to 10 hosted domains
- Plesk Onyx 17 control panel
- 500 MB to 10 GB storage space
- 60 GB to unlimited monthly traffic
- 1 to 10 MySQL databases
- Free SSL certificate
- 1 to unlimited FTP accounts
- PHP 5.x and 7.x support
- Daily backups
The three highest plans include a one-click installer for 300+ popular applications such as Joomla, WordPress, and phpBB, for content management, blogging, forums, and more. Once your website is up-and-running, you can use the Webalizer analysis software to view online logs and download raw log files.
Optional extras (at extra cost) include DDoS attack protection and disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS).
Virtual servers use KVM and VMware virtualization technologies, and you can look forward to 99.99% uptime availability (on average). Dedicated servers use RAID configurations for data redundancy and improved performance.
Pricing and Support
Priced monthly in Israeli new shekels, Active Cloud’s shared hosting plans are pricey, but you can’t actually buy them online without requesting a quote.
You can try contacting the company by telephone, email, WhatsApp, or online contact form. Despite support supposedly being 24/7, my pre-sales contact form submission received no response. And if you’d like to try supporting yourself, you’ll be disappointed to discover that there are no self-support resources.
