Squarespace Introduces Squarespace Blueprint
Squarespace, a website builder known for its professionally crafted templates, launched Squarespace Blueprint, a guided web design system that promises to simplify the website creation process without compromising the quality of a website.
The tool is available only via desktop to all Squarespace users at no extra cost. Currently, there’s only an English version, with more languages coming in the near future.
“We believe that design is the ultimate competitive advantage for anyone looking to build a successful brand or business,” reads Squarespace’s official statement. “Squarespace Blueprint unlocks more than a billion design combinations, allowing anyone to express a creative vision or brand identity more easily than ever before.”
Squarespace Blueprint is a five-step experience with a suite of styling options including layouts, color palettes, fonts, and over a billion design combinations. Website creators can use it in combination with Squarespace’s Website Builder toolkit and Fluid Engine editor.
Similar to Wix’s Artificial Design Intelligence (Wix ADI), it requires users to answer a few simple questions regarding the type of website they want to build. They need to provide the name and elements they’d like to have on their website such as contact forms, e-commerce features, and social media integrations.
The design tool uses this information – in combination with multiple template elements – to create a strong foundation for the user to personalize further. Squarespace Blueprint provides expert guidance through every step of the website-building journey, making it easy for total beginners to create a website. But it also provides tools for professionals to “express a creative vision or brand identity more easily than ever before.”
Users get access to a live preview of the site that allows them to monitor changes in real time. There’s also a progress tracker to ensure they don’t miss a step throughout their website-building journey.
