Does Cloudways Use cPanel?
No, Cloudways does not give you the option of managing your sites using cPanel or Plesk. Instead, Cloudways uses its own “innovative control panel,” which offers most everything that cPanel has (except that email is an add-on), and a few other extra bells and whistles.
Does Cloudways Offer Shared Hosting?
No. Cloudways, as the name suggests, offers cloud, not shared, hosting.
While shared hosting involves multiple sites sharing the same server and resources, cloud hosting gives you dedicated resources, which allows you to receive a lot more traffic. (You can usually scale up those resources as needed, in case your site gets hit by the Reddit effect, for example.)
So even though shared hosting tends to be more affordable, cloud hosting is far more flexible. But if you’re looking for shared hosting in particular, I recommend Hostinger, which offers amazingly cheap shared hosting plans. Not only that, but when we tested all the major shared hosting services over a period of three months, Hostiner’s performance was by far the best.
Is Cloudways Worth It?
That depends on what you mean by “worth it.” If you’re not a tech whiz, but you want the power of a cloud server at your fingertips, Cloudways can help you get there. However, the support and ease you get with Cloudways does come at a price. So in the end, it’s up to you. If you want your pick of the top cloud hosting companies with managed infrastructure, the convenience of a support line, and WordPress optimization, Cloudways is a fantastic choice.
