SiteBuilder Review 2024 – What Do Users Say?

Donna Moses Written by: Donna Moses

Sitebuilder is incredibly easy to use and is packed with useful features that let you build a fully functional website with absolutely no learning curve.

Overview

Sitebuilder Offers a Plethora of Features That Will Make Your Website Easily Stand out from the Crowd

To compare the best website builders on ease of use, templates, customer service, and value for money, we tried to build the same site on each platform. Check out the results here.

Like most modern builders, Sitebuilder is a drag-and-drop builder, requiring no previous coding knowledge and perfect for website builder newbies. However, it is lacking in tutorials and guides, unlike Wix, which offers tips and tricks, as well as really useful video tutorials. Also, users have complained that the Sitebuilder.com interface is a bit overwhelming.

Sitebuilder offers literally thousands of templates to choose from. This can be a bit overwhelming, but a convenient template selector lets you choose themes in your specific niche.

Some users have complained about Sitebuilder’s billing practice, which they say lacks transparency. This is true, to some extent, because the price you pay at first is only a promotional one, after which you have to pay the regular price.

These issues notwithstanding, Sitebuilder offers an array of solid features—including a blog function, e-commerce, SEO, social media integration, image galleries, and site analytics—all of which will certainly go a long way in helping you set up a fully-functional website with almost no learning curve.

Templates

SiteBuilder-templates

Beautiful Templates for All Niches

Wide selection of themes: You will be spoiled for choice where themes are concerned. Sitebuilder’s templates are categorized under various themes—including beauty and fashion, hotel and travel, lifestyle, trade and construction, photography, and so much more. The only disadvantage is that once you choose a theme, you cannot swap it in the middle of the design process without losing all your content.

Responsive: Any theme you select automatically adjusts to fit any screen size. The mobile editor lets you make changes to your site from a mobile device. There are plenty of mobile customization options, including the ability to adjust spaces between sections, to select from menu options, and to hide or show certain elements.

Customization: Some modern site builders such as Weebly and Duda let you customize the site code. This is missing from Sitebuilder and may be a bit disappointing for professional designers. Even then, using the design pane, you can make your website uniquely yours by customizing colors, background images, and text style.

Features

Impressive Selection of Features That Will Rock Your Website

Blog: Where website builders are concerned, a solid blog function is always a good sign, and this is exactly what Sitebuilder provides—a full-featured blog system. You can select from the available blog templates or build your own blog from a blank canvas. In addition to the impressive customization options, you can also create tags, edit the blog permalink, insert cover images, and pin and schedule posts to be published in future.

E-commerce: Commendably, Sitebuilder has its own eCommerce system. This is a surprisingly robust platform with features such as product categories, product variations, email customization, and discount codes. Sitebuilder only supports payment through PayPal, which can be limiting to both you and your customers. Another caveat is that the checkout process is redirected from your own domain and onto the sitebuilder.com domain, which may be of concern to your customers.

Social media integration: Sitebuilder does a pretty good job with social media integration, making it easy for site visitors to share pages and specific content. Widgets can be neatly placed in an out-of-the-way location, such as the website’s header.

Other features that will pack functionality into your website include image galleries, SEO, site statistics, and stock photos.

Ease of use

SiteBuilder-userfriendly1

Simple Site Building Process

Regardless of the plan you choose, the site building process is the same.  It is indeed possible to publish your websites in just three clicks! No need to provide credit card information beforehand. To get started just input a username and a password then choose a template to get access to the editor from where you can publish your live website. It is also from the editor where you can upgrade to your preferred plan.

Super Short Learning Curve

Sitebuilder is one of the easiest website builders I have come across. This builder is packed with features that really take the hassle out of creating a website, so even a beginner would be able to set up a website within an hour.

For example, the Master Page Elements lets you drag and drop elements anywhere on the website just once, and these elements will appear on every page of your site. This is a great time saver as you do not have to insert elements page by page.

Additionally, the Add Panel provides you with the ability to customize your website effortlessly by selecting items from the panel and making the required modifications. These are merely a few examples, but you will encounter numerous handy tools that will assist you in setting up your website with ease.

Support

SiteBuilder-support

All-Around, Reliable Assistance

Sitebuilder has done a pretty good job with its support system. What really stands out is the fact that they pick up calls from customers, which is especially helpful in case you need immediate assistance.

There is a live chat option, but this is only available to Premium and eCommerce customers. Their email response time is also quite impressive—I received a reply within just 4 hours, which was during business hours. You might have to wait longer if you email them outside of business hours.

Whether you want answers to questions about the app market, your account, the site building process, domains, or emails, you will find them in the comprehensive knowledgebase/FAQ section. There are both articles and video tutorials to get you up to speed with everything you need to know about using Sitebuilder.

Pricing

Great Promotional Prices, but Users May Later Feel Cheated

The Pro plan offers free hosting, access to thousands of customizable templates, a drag and drop builder, a custom domain name, and site statistics.

The Premium plan includes all the features in the Pro plan, plus priority support, which typically includes live chat with a customer support representative of the company.

As the name implies, the e-commerce plan is ideal if you are looking to sell products on your website. This tier gives you access to all features in the Premium plan, plus support for e-commerce store integration.

Note that the prices Sitebuilder displays on its website are only promotional and are only applicable for the first term of service. After the first term, your plan will be automatically renewed at regular (non-promotional) rates.

While you can cancel your subscription anytime, Sitebuilder will charge you a non-refundable domain fee.

SiteBuilder REVIEW: BOTTOM LINE

Sitebuilder has had a bad reputation over its billing practices but if you go in knowing that the initial prices are only promotional and are bound to change, you will certainly appreciate the solid features this builder offers at those prices. Sitebuilder is incredibly easy to use and is packed with useful features that let you build a fully functional website with absolutely no learning curve.

HORRIFIC !

SiteBiz is terrible. Once your intital site is completed dont expect to ever speak with a human being again. They take a very long time to do changes, have no basic skills regardng punctuation and capitalizaiton so you need to write everything yourself. There is no customore serviceof any kind. MaybeIf you have a one pager with nothing else on your site you should be okay. The adverstisements and ratings on their site are a scam. I doubt they will even be in business. They also have employees so miserable that they constantly quit. I've had at least 5 different contact people in about 2 years, they all resigned. Don't believe the positive reviews.

Don’t use site builder.

I've been their client for several years. One thing which is common for them is agressive charging your card for options which you didn't want. Same story for every year. Suddenly billing is not dozens of dollars but hindered of dollars. Each year the same and each year you have to fight to cancel it. Or to try to cancel. Basically you can consider it as a scam.

Don’t use it ! Two stars for phone support only.

Can only add one photo at a time, limited color/ground choices, mass marketing email on the blink, online chat each response takes 2 to 3 minutes, difficult to personalize and generic with few choices. Extra charges added in for everything, Nightmare from day one.

Hmm is anyone else experiencing problems with the images on this blog loading? I'm trying to figure out if its a problem on my end or if it's the blog. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

SiteBuilder Review

Any time I have ever had a problem or a question on how to do something, tech support cannot answer or help me. Its so bad that the people that are there to help never can. I don't get it. I definitely wish I went with another site.

SiteBuilder Review

Having a website that is easy to set up does not matter, if I cannot get into my emails. I have had this website for app. 10 months, but a couple of weeks ago, my email screwed up. I have emailed SiteBuilder, and have live chatted with them a few times and always get the same response......Someone will get back to you within 24 hours. This has been going on since Dec 23rd.
I NEED to get into my emails.....this site is for business, and I need to contact ppl. I do not have their email addresses elsewhere!
It would be nice to have human contact via telephone. Very frustrating to only chat each time. And US customer service would also be nice.
Really tired of the outsourcing.
My advice???? Do NOT use Site Builder!!!!!

SiteBuilder Review

There's no rates or costs on this site. When I ask they say I have to sign up to find out how much they charge. One can't sign up without a credit card.

Are you willing to give someone a credit card and only THEN find out what their charges are?

Do you wonder about THIS site and their ratings for such a site.

The BBB warns about this site. One can get an A+ rating with the BBB merely by responding to complaints without any resolution. Here's the info:

SiteBuilder Review

Called to get customer service, provided Representative with my number (just in case). Of course got disconnect (overseas call - India maybe), of course did not get a call back. Emailed Customer Service to get help. Received and autoreply - We at SiteBuilder service over 10 million account and cannot not get to you for up to 48 hours, actually took closer to 84 hours - not a good show of Customer Service (just starting out). Had a problem with the site freezing, could not edit, save or get out of the page. Had to exit via internet tab, therefore loosing all updates entered on that session. Setup chat... after waiting 20 minutes did not get chat session started. Closed chat, setup another chat session, another 30 minutes go by... that's close to one hour of non-productivity (you do the math). Although they do have a really good website - great templated, very user friendly with feature you would find at a much more expensive site, It is really a shame the customer service lead to a problematic situation for someone how wants to get things done.
