By its own admission, Rackeo is a relatively young Chilean web hosting provider. But it does provide a range of competitively priced hosting plans (plus extras) that can be paid for via PayPal.

rackeo main

Although Rackeo describes itself as a young web hosting company, its website doesn’t give a date for its establishment. What it does tell us is that this Chilean host has its own data center that meets the highest reliability standards. From shared web hosting and reseller hosting to VPS and dedicated servers, you’ll find it all at Rackeo, along with domain services and SSL certificates.

Rackeo’s website can be switched between two versions, for Chile and Peru, but both are in Spanish.

Features and Ease of Use

rackeo 1

Rackeo offers three shared hosting plans, four reseller hosting plans, three cloud-based SME web hosting plans, seven SSD VPS plans, and four dedicated server plans. The shared hosting plans provide you with:

  • One to unlimited hosted domains
  • cPanel control panel
  • Unlimited web space
  • Six to unlimited databases
  • MySQL and PostgreSQL databases
  • phpMyAdmin

The Site Builder that comes for free with the highest PRO 3 plan makes site creation a cakewalk, with no programming experience required. Rakeo also offers the Softaculous one-click installer (for web hosting and SME plans) and Fantastico de Luxe (for reseller plans) so you can install and run popular installation scripts with no technical know-how. At the other end of the expertise spectrum, SSH access affords you complete control of your hosting server.

SSD storage is faster and more reliable than traditional HDD storage, and reliability is further enhanced by RAID 10 that duplicates your data to guard against disk failure. You get a 99.9% uptime guarantee, which is no bad thing, but it’s no higher than the industry average.

Pricing and Support

Rackeo’s shared hosting plans are competitively priced, but beware that you’ll have to pay extra for add-on services such as WordPress/Joomla installation and Google Apps configuration. Chilean customers can pay for plans in Chilean Peso (CLP) via PayPal, Khipo bank transfer, PagoMaster, or PaymentMaster/Servipag coupon. However, international customers must pay via PayPal. Available billing cycles are annual, biennial, and triennial.

Rackeo’s 30-day money-back guarantee is subject to certain conditions, as detailed on its website’s “Reimbursement Guarantee” page.

Rackeo provides 24/7 customer support via telephone, support ticket, or live chat. I got quick answers to my queries via the live chat channel.

For self-support, Rackeo provides a plethora of video tutorials via a YouTube channel, plus a surprisingly comprehensive collection of tutorials.

Bottom line on Rackeo

For competitive, feature-rich Chilean hosting backed by a 30-day (conditional) money-back guarantee, it’s worth taking a look at Rackeo’s packages. However, you have to make a minimum one-year commitment, and international (non-Chilean) customers can only pay via PayPal.

  • Feature-rich hosting plans
  • Competitive pricing
  • Several useful paid add-ons
  • 30day money-back guarantee

  • Relatively little industry experience
  • Only PayPal supported for international customers

For competitively priced Chilean hosting, reach out to Rackeo.
