To compare the best website builders on ease of use, templates, customer service, and value for money, we tried to build the same site on each platform. Check out the results here.
Japanese website builder service FC2 greets its users with a simple, colorful website boasting their eight main features. Targeting individuals and small business owners who’d like to dabble in website-making, FC2 has created a platform on which users can quickly and easily create a fully-functional website – and perhaps make a bit of money on the side. With FC2, users get a custom subdomain complete with free hosting and enough storage space to get started. They also get an HTML editor, image editor, and a file manager so they can quickly upload and edit the pages of their website, although FTP access is also provided if users wish to upload files in bulk. It’s unclear how many free templates FC2 has made available to users, but if their free blog service is any indication, there are thousands of designs to choose from. Plus, aside from a “Powered by FC2” credit at the bottom of each page, websites created with FC2 are ad-free – unless, of course, you choose to insert ads of your own for the affiliate income.
FC2’s website builder service is free. Upon registration, users get 1GB of disk space, their very own FC2 subdomain, and easy access to FC2’s other services.
