Web hosting company WebHosting.sg is a subsidiary of Exabytes Group, which has 100,000 customers in 121 countries. WebHosting.sg has servers in Singapore, and its English-language website advertises just one “cloud hosting” hosting product.
Features and Ease of Use
With WebHosting.sg, you can configure the storage quota, email accounts, MySQL databases, and other resources you need. You can increase and decrease whenever you want, and only pay for what you use. With the single cloud hosting plan, you also get:
- 99.5% uptime guarantee
- 10 GB storage
- 20 GB bandwidth
- Automatic backups
You manage your hosting account using the popular cPanel control panel, which includes the Softaculous one-click installer. You can easily install more than 300 web applications, including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, phpBB, and Magento, without having to be an expert webmaster.
While most hosts assure uptime of at least 99.99%, this host offers a much lower 99.5% uptime guarantee, which means you could theoretically suffer an hour of downtime every week before compensation of 5% for every 30 minutes of downtime kicks in.
Pricing and Support
WebHosting.sg’s cloud hosting plan is priced low compared with even the top hosting providers, although they do typically offer higher uptime guarantees. You get a 30-day money-back guarantee that gives you an opportunity to get out within the first month if anything goes wrong. Thereafter, you are entitled to a refund of your remaining hosting.
Support channels are limited. As far as I can see, you have to submit a support ticket even in emergencies, which obviously isn’t as efficient (or reassuring) as live chat or a telephone number to call. For self-support, the community forums (containing just two posts) won’t be any use at all:
