Vas Hosting has been in the hosting industry for fourteen years since its Facebook page mentions 2005 as the year when it was established. Its servers are in the Prague-based datacenter of SuperHosting, which meets Tier III requirements. Since the company owns all its servers, it can guarantee immediate service. Vas Hosting offers web hosting (including WordPress hosting and email hosting) along with virtual, dedicated, and managed servers. Additionally, you can get domain registration (even for accented domains) and transfer services. The company also offers two user-friendly applications, which you can try for free. One is the VPS Center application (for domain and server management) and the other is the Freelo application (for task management and effective collaboration). At present, Vas Hosting is running over 500 virtual servers and hosts more than 4500 domains on its servers. Its VPSs are connected with a peak connectivity of 330 GBs. The company’s website supports Czech and English.
Features and Ease of Use
Vas Hosting offers 4 web hosting, 4 VPS, and 4 dedicated server plans. It also offers a multihosting plan that comes with one-click installation of CMS like WordPress and PrestaShop. With its web hosting plans (called Lite, Profi, WordPress, and E-mail), you’ll get
- 1500 MB-8000MB disk space
- Unlimited bandwidth
- 5-unlimited databases
- 20-unlimited mailboxes
- Unlimited FTP accounts
- Free SSL certificate (Let’s Encrypt)
- Daily automatic data backups
- Support for PHP 7.2, 7.1, 5.6, and 5.3
You’ll also get DDoS protection that mitigates the risk of a DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attack. Vas Hosting offers SSDs that bring enhanced storage performance and reliability compared to HDDs your way. Easy installation of popular content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, and others is another user-friendly feature on offer.
It’s not clear if the company offers any uptime guarantee because I received two contradictory replies from their support staff (one of which mentions a 99.95% guarantee). The company does say that it has been able to maintain outstanding server availability (100% uptime) in the long run.
A unique feature of Vas Hosting is its VPS Center application (developed in-house), which is a secure and simple domain and web server management environment. It comes with multiple access options and doesn’t interfere with or affect the server’s operation. You can try it for free for seven days.
Pricing and Support
Web hosting plans of Vas Hosting are cheap. To make the payment in CZK (Czech Koruna), you can use PayPal, credit card, direct transfer to the company’s Fio Bank account, or QR payment. Available billing periods are annual and biennial but you get only a little discount with your long-term commitment, which I find disappointing. VPS and dedicated server clients are lucky that way as they get monthly to annual billing cycles and 5%, 10%, and 20% off on opting for quarterly, bi-annual, and annual terms respectively.
Vas Hosting doesn’t offer any money-back guarantee as far as I can see. However, you can try its VPS Center application for free for seven days.
You can reach Vas Hosting’s 24/7 customer support via phone, email, and an online contact form. Though the company promises to answer your email questions within two hours, my wait-period was slightly longer and all that I got as a reply to my queries was this:
A little more prodding brought this my way (and most of my questions still remained unanswered):
And finally (and thankfully), I got this reply:
Those seeking self-help can head to the company’s blog, help section (that has Q&As, tutorials, etc.), FAQ section, and VPS Center documentation (for complete VPS instructions).
