Features and Ease of Use
SLOhosting offers 16 shared hosting plans, 2 reseller hosting plans (only available in the cart), 4 virtual server solutions, and 9 dedicated servers. The three general shared hosting plans — named Personal, Business, and Webmaster — provide you with:
- High-performance Xeon servers
- 100 MB to 10,000 MB disk space
- Unlimited bandwidth
- 25 to unlimited POP3 email addresses with web access
- Up to unlimited additional domains
- 5 to unlimited MySQL databases
- PHP selector (from v5.2 to v5.4)
- 24/7 guaranteed operation
- UPS protection
The e-commerce-ready hosting plans support WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, phpBB, Zen Cart, and Concrete5. Alternatively, you can create your website using the web designer tool’s 60+ pre-made templates, logos, and color schemes. Either way, you don’t need to be a web designer or developer to build a web presence.
SLOhosting’s virtual servers use RAID 1 for improved storage performance and data security. You also get root access, providing complete control over your hosting environment.
Pricing and Support
SLOhosting’s shared hosting plans are pricey, with even the starter plan being priced at more than twice the industry average. You can pay in euros by bank transfer or PayPal on monthly or annual billing cycles, with a free domain for an annual commitment. The VPS plans afford you two months of free service when you sign up for a year.
Contact SLOhosting’s customer support team via telephone (during office hours), support ticket, fax, or 24/7 online contact form, but bear in mind that my contact form submission went unanswered. If you have to resort to helping yourself, you will find a limited set of self-support resources.
