Features and Ease of Use
Although Simplisimo has dedicated servers on its website, the page links to Appnor that provides dedicated servers in addition to cloud hosting and shared hosting. Its shared hosting comes in five packages offering features that are suitable for small to medium business websites. Customers on these plans get to enjoy the following:
- 100% uptime
- Free .ro domain on some plans
- Automatic daily backups
- From 1000MB to 24000MB
- Anywhere from 40GB to unlimited bandwidth
Although it claims a 100% uptime, I wouldn’t bank on that because the company doesn’t show confidence in its ability to actually provide a 100% uptime with a downtime warranty. Its actual uptime might be around 99%.
Simplisimo runs on CloudLinux, which ensures that customers are separated into cages with virtualized resources to ensure that no one infringes on another person’s resources. CloudLinux also provides a bit of a security advantage with regards to file security and the spread of malware.
The company offers cPanel for customers to manage their shared hosting smoothly. It supports Python and PHP for programming, and you can create unlimited MySQL databases. If programming tools and databases aren’t part of your skills, you’re still covered. Simplisimo provides Fantastico deluxe as its one-click installer, which can be used for hundreds of web applications, including WordPress.
It features an SMTP mail server, email forwarders, and autoresponders along with server-based anti-spam and anti-virus.
Another notable feature is a shopping cart that customers can use to set up a simple E-commerce website. It also provides an SSL certificate for HTTPs protocol and gives you a better chance at ranking high on the SERPs of search engines.
Pricing and Support
Simplisimo doesn’t offer a free hosting trial, so you’ll have to pay to use its service. Its prices are pocket-friendly and on some of the plans, you can pay for a month at a time but others (like the base plan), require a one-year subscription at least. It also does not offer a money-back guarantee.
Choosing a longer duration (three months to a year) for hosting comes with the benefit of reduced costs. Additionally, starting from the third plan, you will receive a free .ro domain. Although the month-to-month option is great for minimizing risks.
If you wish to transfer your website from your current host, the company will do the migration for you free.
There’s a knowledge base so self-support is a lot easier to navigate. Simplisimo also provides technical customer support through email, ticket, and phone but it isn’t 24/7. Support agents work from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. I needed help with a few issues, so I had to contact customer support through email. I only received a reply several days later.
