Simplisimo is a web hosting company that’s operated by Appnor. Its office is in Bucharest, Romania. Its target is businesses in Romania and those targeting Romania audiences. Its website is in Romanian only and its servers are located in Romania.
Features and Ease of Use
Although Simplisimo has dedicated servers on its website, the page links to Appnor that provides dedicated server in addition to cloud hosting and shared hosting. Its shared hosting comes in five packages offering features that are suitable for small to medium business websites. Customers on the plans get to enjoy the following:
- 100% uptime
- Free .ro domain on some plans
- Automatic daily backups
- From 1000MB to 24000MB
- Anywhere from 40GB to unlimited bandwidth
Although it claims a 100% uptime, I wouldn’t bank on that because the company doesn’t show confidence in its ability to actually provide a 100% uptime with a downtime warranty. Its actual uptime might around 99%.
Simplisimo runs on CloudLinux. This ensures that customers are separated into cages with virtualized resources to ensure that no one infringes on another person’s resources. CloudLinux also provides a bit of security advantage in terms of file security and the spread of malware.
The company offers cPanel for customers to manage their shared hosting smoothly. It supports Python, PHP for programming. You can create unlimited MySQL databases. If programming tools and databases aren’t part of your skills, you’re still covered. Simplisimo provides Fantastico deluxe as its one-click installer which can be used for hundreds of web applications including WordPress.
It features an SMTP mail server, Email forwarders, and autoresponders. It also has server-based anti-spam and anti-virus.
Another notable feature is a shopping cart that customers can use to set up a simple e-commerce website. It also provides an SSL certificate for HTTPs protocol and gives you a better chance at ranking high on the SERPs of search engines.
Pricing and Support
Simplisimo doesn’t offer a free hosting trial, so you’ll have to pay to use its service. Its prices are pocket-friendly. On some of the plans, you can pay for a month but some (like the base plan) requires one-year billing at least. It also does not offer a money-back guarantee.
While month to month hosting payment is great for reducing risks, if you’re willing to go for a longer duration (three months to a year), you’ll get a discount on hosting costs. From its third plan, you’ll get a free .ro domain.
If you wish to transfer your website from your current host, it will do the migration for you free.
There’s a knowledge base so self-support is a lot easier to navigate. It also provides technical customer support through email, ticket, and phone but it isn’t 24/7. Support agents work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. I needed help with a few issues so I had to contact customer support through email. I received a reply some days later.
