Features and Ease of Use
In addition to Windows Hosting, OpanHost offers two types of Linux shared hosting: Linux Hosting and Business Hosting. The Linux and Windows Hosting are best suited to simple websites with low traffic, whereas Business Hosting is best suited to growing enterprises with higher resource requirements.
Across these types of hosting, there are several plans, which typically provide you with:
- 99.9% uptime
- Free domain
- Free SSL certificate
- Weekly backups (for Business Hosting)
- One or unlimited websites
- Unlimited bandwidth
Whereas the Business Hosting plans provide the popular cPanel control panel for hosting administration, the Linux Hosting plans comes with a control panel that was developed in house. This custom control panel has a one-day demo so that you can try before you buy.
If you want to set up a CMS-backed website, you can access a one-click installer from the control panel. Although this would allow you to install WordPress, you might also want to consider the WordPress-optimized plans. As an alternative to a CMS-back website, you might decide to create a professional-looking web presence with the website builder.
In terms of security, you get automatic malware scans, web application firewalls, brute force protection, and DDoS protection. Email accounts include antivirus and anti-spam protection.
OpanHost’s platform is built to accommodate business growth, with expandable storage space plus autoscaling of resources and load balancing to accommodate traffic spikes. OpanHost also excels when it comes to performance. SSD storage is faster and more reliable than traditional HDD storage, and content is cached close to end-users for faster page loading.
Pricing and Support
OpanHost’s hosting plans are affordable, and you can subscribe to them on monthly, annual, biennial, or triennial terms, with up to 50% off the monthly price. You can pay by credit/debit card via the RazorPay payment gateway, and first-time customers get 15-days to get out if the services aren’t satisfactory. Although there’s no hosting free trial, you can take the custom control panel for a test-drive.
OpanHost doesn’t have a knowledge base (as far as I know), and you can’t call the company. But you can contact the customer support team via ticket or live chat. I didn’t have to wait long to get answers via the live chat channel.
