The English-language website may be confusing for some customers since it advertises multiple hosting options with some overlap but with some inconsistencies between the product pages and the store pages.
Features and Ease of Use
MyLightHost offers four “cheap”, four “USA”, and four “shared” hosting plans. It also offers several reseller plans (in ten locations), four clustered cloud hosting plans, 15 VPS plans (of various kinds), three cloud servers, three cloud VPS plans, and 16 dedicated servers (in the U.S.A., Germany, the U.K., Singapore, and France/Canada).
The four shared web hosting plans provide you with:
- 1 to 10 hosted websites
- 10 GB SSD to 40 GB SSD storage
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Unlimited subdomains
- Unlimited databases
- CageFS hacker protection
- Free SSL certificate
- Unlimited email accounts
The included one-click installer helps you install 300+ apps without having to be a technical expert, and the free Cloudflare CDN is provided for improved performance and security.
When you outgrow your shared hosting, MyLightHost makes it easy to scale up to a virtual or dedicated server. Virtual servers use RAID 1 or RAID 10 storage (depending on the plan) to guard against disk data disasters. Some of the dedicated servers use SoftRaid instead. Daily backups are made to a remote location, and you get a 99.95% uptime guarantee.
Pricing and Support
MyLightHost’s shared hosting plans are dirt-cheap, but they become more expensive with the addons available at the checkout; things like SiteLock (for site security), CodeGuard (for backups), and paid SSL (for extra protection and a good search engine ranking).
You can pay for plans in U.S. dollars or Bangladeshi taka on monthly to triennial terms by bank transfer, mobile banking, bKash, or Bitcoin. The two higher plans include a free domain (.com, .business, .link, .company, or .click) when you sign up for at least a year. The 30-day money-back guarantee should allow you to get out with a full refund within a month.
You can contact the 24/7 support team by telephone, ticket, or live chat, but I was unable to summon any pre-sales support. If (like me) you have to resort to self-support, you will find an adequately populated knowledge base:
