Turkish company MyHostcum offers Windows and Linux hosting plans at the same (higher-than-average) prices. The scarcity of self-support resources is something of a downer for me.
If you are in a hurry, and just want the bottom line: for the same price as MyHostcum you can get much better servers with 24/7 support with Hostinger, so why even bother?!
Since starting its journey in 2013, Turkish host MyHostcum has offered a broad range of internet solutions to clients of different sizes and with different requirements. This Istanbul-based company aims to capture a high share of the hosting market by offering fast, uninterrupted, and reliable internet services.
MyHostcum’s offerings include Linux and Windows web hosting, reseller hosting, script hosting, dedicated servers, virtual servers, and cloud servers, along with associated services such as domain registration and SSL certificates.
MyHostcum’s website supports the Turkish language.
Features and Ease of Use
MyHostcum offers six shared hosting packages (three each for Linux and Windows), six reseller hosting packages (three of each), script hosting (for WordPress, PrestaShop, Joomla, and Proticaret), five dedicated server packages, three virtual server packages, and five cloud server packages.
With all Linux shared hosting packages, you get:
99.9% uptime
100 GB to unlimited disk space
Unlimited monthly traffic
Unlimited FTP accounts
30 to unlimited websites
75 to unlimited email accounts
50 to unlimited MySQL databases
PHP 5.6 to 7.2
cPanel control panel
Turkish control panel
Custom error pages
Weekly backups
The one-click installer allows you to install popular applications like WordPress, PrestaShop, and Joomla easily with no technical know-how. Once you’ve set up your site, you can secure it with dedicated SSL certificates that will give your customers confidence. The WHOIS privacy option protects you from unwanted advances by hiding your website owner information.
The not-usually-offered-elsewhere Proticaret hosting packages are e-commerce packages that come with the Nginx cache for fast, secure performance.
Pricing and Support
MyHostcum’s shared hosting plans cost more than the industry average. You can pay for them in four different currencies (U.S. dollars, Turkish lira, euros, and British pounds) via two methods (credit card and bank transfer) on billing cycles from one to three years. There are no apparent discounts for longer sign-ups, and there is no money-back guarantee as far as I can see.
Unusually, this host offers Linux and Windows hosting packages at the same prices (whereas Windows hosting usually costs more).
You can contact the 24/7 customer support team via telephone, ticket, online contact form, email, or live chat. Unfortunately, I was unable to summon support via the live chat channel. Self-support resources seem to be scarce, limited to a blog containing some useful articles.
Dear Gwen;Thank you for your article about our company. It really was a very nice post. However, it is lower in pricing compared to other competitors. Hosting, reseller, vds and server services are legally guaranteed 15 days return. I ask you to correct them, I wish you good work.
Turkish hosting provider MyHostcum offers hosting solutions at slightly high prices, but this may be because Linux and Windows hosting is offered at identical prices. The absence of any money-back guarantee (as far as I can see) might make me think twice about signing up for services.
