If you are in a hurry, and just want the bottom line: for the same price as Mhgoz you can get much better servers with 24/7 support with Hostinger, so why even bother?!
Egyptian company Mhgoz was founded in 2008. It has more than 30,000 mainly Middle Eastern customers, and its modern website is available in Arabic and English.
Mhgoz claims to offer “hosting as you’ve never seen before.” It’s a bold claim, so let’s see how it stacks up.
Features and Ease of Use
Mhgoz sells shared hosting, reseller hosting, VPS solutions, cloud hosting, dedicated servers, domain registration, and SSL certificates. Its hosting plans include these features:
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Daily, weekly, and monthly backups
- Domain registration (available)
- One domain, unlimited parked domains, and unlimited subdomains
- SSL certificates (available)
- Unlimited disk space and bandwidth
The hosting plans come with everything you’d expect, such as support for PHP, and MySQL with phpMyAdmin. However, some of the let-downs for me are the PHP version being limited to 5.6 (rather than the far faster 7.x) and the Cloudflare CDN only being available by request.
You get the industry-standard cPanel control panel complete with the Softaculous one-click installer (as confirmed by customer services). Cron jobs allow you to schedule regular tasks rather than having to start them manually every time.
This provider’s 99.9% uptime guarantee is in line with the industry average.
Pricing and Support
The prices are okay; not the cheapest I’ve seen, and not the most expensive. But beware that the advertised prices are for a three-year term, so you’ll pay more (pro-rata) if you sign up for only a year. There is no monthly billing option.
Although you get Cloudflare for free, the checkout will present you with lots of pay-for add-ons such as SSL certificates and outgoing email filtering. And although you can pay by PayPal or Vodafone Cash, this Arabic company also allows you to pay via various Saudi and Egyptian banks.
I was most impressed by Mhgoz’s customer service. At lunchtime on a weekday, the live chat operator picked up instantly and assisted me politely:
If you want to try supporting yourself, you’ll find an acceptable knowledge base and an informative blog.
