IP Only is a Norway-based hosting solutions provider that was founded as a colocation solutions provider in 2014. It is among the top twenty largest hosting companies in Norway by market share, and it owns and operates data centers in Stockholm, Linkoping, and Oslo. The IP Only website is only available in Norwegian, but it can be translated into English in the web browser.
Features and Ease of Use
Over the years, IP Only has invested heavily to build powerful infrastructure for providing colocation services to businesses of all sizes in Norway. Some of the standard features that IP Only includes in most of its hosting solutions are:
- Advanced redundancy protocols for power, cooling, and backup
- Data centers within your locality
- Modern security protocols
- Energy efficient data centers
IP Only has several data centers in Oslo, including one in Nydalen. These modern data centers are designed to meet the flexibility and performance demands of this vendor’s customers. IP Only has a primary power source and a reserve power source made up of power units with a 1500kW diesel engine, which ensures that their systems keep running even in the event of a serious power failure. IP Only data centers are secured with alarm systems, patrolled by security guards 24/7, and equipped with camera surveillance.
IP Only offers automatic remote backup services that provide a quick and easy way to recover data following a disaster. The IP Only website has scant information about the hosting solutions they provide, which is in stark contrast to their Swedish website that fully describes its virtual servers and virtual data centers.
Pricing and Support
Although IP Only claims to offer quality colocation services at the right price, they seem to keep their prices well hidden from their website visitors. With no call-to-action buttons on the website, it appears that the only way to get a price – or even an indication of pricing – is to call their support team (phone number on the website) or email the sales team (also given on the website). This complicates the process of comparing their services and prices with other vendors.
IP Only also provides no information regarding their refund policies, hosting contracts, or website migration costs.
As I’ve already hinted, customers can contact the IP Only support team via email and telephone. There is no ticketing system and the website has no live chat. Given the unorganized way in which this vendor has designed its website, it is hard to imagine that their technical support would be any more organized. My calls to this team went unanswered and they never responded to my emails. The website has no knowledge base or FAQ sections.
