Hosting Stak started its journey with the goal of providing every customer with the highest quality IT solutions via its myriad of hosting packages. The company was founded in 2016. Apart from web hosting, the London-based company also offers cloud hosting, Forex VPS, and web security solutions to its customers. Hosting Stak’s website is available in two languages – English and Italian.
Features and Ease of Use
Hosting Stak offers a range of hosting solutions including shared, business, cloud, Linux/Windows VPS, and Forex VPS. In terms of shared hosting, there are three options available: Basic, Professional, and Business. You can also purchase (through Hosting Stak) a wide range of SSL certificates by GeoTrust and Symantec.
Its web hosting packages run on 64-bit CentOS 7 and cPanel. They differ in the amount of resources (storage and bandwidth) as well as add-on domains, subdomains, email accounts, and MySQL databases given. However, all three plans are SSL-ready and come with:
- Unlimited monthly traffic
- MySQL version 4.1 and 5.0
- FTP and SFTP access
- SpamAssassin, SPF (to reduce spam) and antivirus protection
- Cron jobs
- Automatic daily, weekly, and monthly backups activated via the control panel
One value-added feature that Hosting Stak offers is Softaculous, a one-click app installer that you can use to easily install and run many web applications. There’s no mention of how many applications the company’s version of Softaculous includes, but at least the most popular ones — such as the WordPress CMS — are there.
Hosting Stak offers a 99.9% server uptime guarantee, but this seems to only apply to the company’s cloud hosting and Forex VPS hosting services, unfortunately.
Since Hosting Stak’s web hosting plans are compatible with e-commerce scripts, you can easily run osCommerce, PHPads, Zen Cart, phpCOIN, and phpMoney. These plans are also compatible with scripts for forums and portals (vBulletin, phpBB, PHP PostNuke, Mambo, E107, Joomla, eGroupware, phpWebSite, and so on), blogs (b2evolution, pLog, Geeklog, and so on), and collaboration platforms (phpBook, OpenBiblio, pMachineFree, PHPWiki).
PHP eAccelerator, which reduces server loads and boosts your PHP code’s speed by up to ten times, is another of its unique features.
Business and Professional plan customers get access to the integrated Google PageSpeed Module, which would help decrease your webpage loading times significantly.
Pricing and Support
Hosting Stak doesn’t list its prices on its website, so you’ll have to seek a quotation for the company’s web hosting plans. This makes it rather difficult for potential customers to check its prices against the market averages, unfortunately.
You can pay for these plans in euros via bank transfer, PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards.
Hosting Stak doesn’t provide a money-back guarantee, but its terms and conditions state that you may request a refund for the unused portion of the contract.
You can reach Hosting Stak’s customer support via phone, email, Skype, an online form, support ticket, and a live chat. Disappointingly, their live chat wasn’t available when I tried. However, when I sent them an email via their online contact form, this was promptly answered.
Hosting Stak disappoints those seeking support resources for self-resolution, as the company does not offer any in this regard.
