Features and Ease of Use
Exigent’s hosting plans are designed in such a way that from a range of figures, you can pick the exact amount of disk space, bandwidth, IP addresses, and parked domains that you require. Its features include:
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Free SSL certificates
- Daily automatic backups
- From 1GB to 100GB disk space
- From 100GB to 1000GB bandwidth
All plans come with unlimited email addresses and MySQL databases. Unlimited add-on and parked domains can be purchased separately during checkout.
Exigent’s hosting resources are set up on servers that use CloudLinux OS, which is very efficient and stable for shared servers. It helps to confine each user on a shared plan to their own environment such that the resource usage of one user doesn’t affect another user’s account.
Through its cloud portal, you can upgrade or downgrade your service by choosing or removing any resource of your choice.
The company provides cPanel control panel, which helps you manage databases, setup emails, and carry out any other management or administrative function of your hosting account. Through the control panel, you can use an automatic installer – Softaculous -for applications such as WordPress, Joomla, OpenCart, and other scripts. It handles the installation in just a few minutes.
Exigent gives its clients an option to choose which of its data centers they’d like to use to host their website. Its server locations are all in Australia – Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.
Its shared plan is built on RAID 10 SSD storage. SSD provides better performance than hard disks, which along with RAID 10, provides a better hosting experience. Your website data isn’t lost in case of the failure of a drive because it is stored in more than one drive. So, in case of failure of one drive, the other will come in handy.
Pricing and Support
Exigent has three sets of shared hosting plans: Community, Business, and Economy hosting. While the Business and Economy hosting are paid plans, the Community hosting plans are completely free hosting services for non-profit groups, charities, and local communities.
The prices of its paid plans are slightly expensive, but still affordable with the Business plans being more expensive than the Economy plans. These paid plans come with free cPanel migration from another provider to Exigent’s servers.
Its billing cycles are monthly, quarterly, semiannual, annual, and biennial. Payments can be made using BPAY, credit/debit cards, and PayPal.
Exigent’s support system includes live chat, phone, email, ticketing system, and a help center with frequently asked questions and tutorials. I emailed customer support and in just a few minutes, received a response.
