This Belgian company also offers a user-friendly control panel with SiteBuilder to help its customers develop and customize their websites. By using clean energy for its network infrastructure, Zitana makes a commendable contribution to the sustainable protection of the environment as well as its natural resources. Zitana’s website supports English.
Features and Ease of Use
Zitana offers three types of hosting plans, namely Basic, Business, and Pro to suit the different needs of different customers. While the Basic plan is ideal for blogs and small company websites, the Business and Pro plans are designed to suit e-commerce and company websites, and large websites with heavy traffic respectively.
Zitana’s Basic plan is further divided into Basic, Basic Plus, and Basic Premium plans. These plans differ in their storage (10GB-250GB SSD), and the number of websites hosted (one-ten). Some of the features of these plans are:
- Unlimited mailboxes
- Unlimited databases
- PHP & MySQL
- Instant WordPress together with 200+ apps
- MariaDB databases: version 10+
- Cron jobs
- AwStats visitor analytics
- Comprehensive firewall
- ClamAV Antivirus
- Real-time file scanning
- Two-factor authentication
- Backup and restore manager
- Fallback mailserver
- Secure and standard FTP
If you run frequent web promotions or handle a lot of visitors, Zitana’s three Business plans are your best bet. Though they appear to be shared hosting plans, they are VPS plans in reality as indicated by the feature details. The entry-level plan in this segment comes with 30GB storage (SSD) and the flexibility of adding up to 50 websites along with 1GB RAM (with 2 vCPU cores) as guaranteed resources.
Zitana’s three Pro plans are dedicated server plans, which should be your go-to choice for large websites. With the initial plan in this segment, you get 100GB dedicated storage (SSD), a dedicated Solutions Engineer, and dedicated resources like 4GB RAM and 2x Intel Xeon processors.
Some common features among all of these plans include SSD storage, free domain name, free SSL certificate, and anti-spam and malware scanning.
Pricing and Support
Zitana’s hosting plans cannot be called cheap, though they are competitively priced. These plans are payable in Euro on a monthly basis and can be paid for via Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, iDEAL, Bancontact, and SOFORT banking.
You can reach the company’s support staff via phone, email, fax, and an online form. Zitana’s website displays a “Live Chat” tab but it didn’t work when I tried it. It also mentions that the support team can be reached 24/7, but I didn’t find anything that can back that claim up, as the email query I sent them remained answered.
Additionally, though the company has an “FAQ” tab, clicking on it returned a “File not found” error.
