VastyHost Review 2024 – Is It Worth It?

Mark Holden Mark Holden Web Hosting Expert

It’s not clear whether it’s still operational, but Bulgarian hosting provider VastyHost offers a wide range of feature-loaded web hosting products at an affordable cost. I’d be more impressed with this vendor if it weren’t for its unresponsive customer support and confusing refund policy.

Overview

vastyhost featuresBulgaria-based VastyHost provides hosting and other internet-based solutions for individuals and businesses. Its hosting products include shared hosting, VPS (virtual private servers), and dedicated servers. VastyHost has data centers in Bulgaria, Malta, Cyprus, France, and Germany.

VastyHost has an information-packed website that’s also elegant, sleek, and interactive. Although the website is available in more than 10 languages, it can only be displayed in English. All prices are in euros.

Features and Ease of Use

VastyHost offers four Linux-based shared hosting plans – Deluxe, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate. All plans provide:

  • 99.9% uptime guarantee
  • Unlimited MySQL databases, subdomains, and FTP accounts
  • phpMyAdmin access
  • Website builder
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Free website transfer
  • One-click installer
  • cPanel

Tech-savvy webmasters will also enjoy:

  • CGI, Fast CGI, and PHP 5
  • Ruby on Rails, Perl, and Python
  • Cron jobs
  • Curl, CPAN, GD Library, and ImageMagick

The Deluxe plan is the smallest and it comes with 1,000 MB disk space, one website, 10,000 MB bandwidth, and 25 email accounts. It’s appropriate for beginners or if you’re interested in email hosting.

If you have a demanding website with heavy traffic, the Ultimate package provides unlimited storage, bandwidth, and email accounts. It also includes 64 GB RAM and a reseller account.

It’s always nice to see some useful freebies thrown in, such as SSL protection, DDoS (distributed denial of service) protection, website migration, and a website builder.

VastyHost also includes the industry-standard cPanel with all packages, along with more than 350 popular web scripts (WordPress, Magento, Joomla, Drupal, etc).

If you need more resources, VastyHost offers custom VPS options that you can configure depending on your website’s requirements.

Pricing and Support

While VastyHost’s prices aren’t the cheapest around, they’re still affordable given the features and resources provided with its subscriptions.

You can pay monthly or annually, depending on the plan. VastyHost accepts payment via PayPal, bitcoin, or bank transfer.

This vendor’s refund policy can be confusing. According to the website, they offer a 45-day money-back guarantee with all shared hosting packages, but this contradicts the seven-day refund policy mentioned on the Terms of Service page.

VastyHost has a comprehensive knowledge base that contains a lot of tutorials and articles covering major topics. If you want to contact customer support, you can do so through email, phone, or ticket. Although customer support should respond within 24 hours, it’s been weeks now and my ticket hasn’t been answered.
