It’s not clear whether it’s still operational, but Bulgarian hosting provider VastyHost offers a wide range of feature-loaded web hosting products at an affordable cost. I'd be more impressed with this vendor, if it weren’t for its unresponsive customer support and confusing refund policy.

Overview

VastyHostBulgaria-based VastyHost was bootstrapped in 2017 with an aim to provide top-quality hosting and other internet-based solutions for individuals and businesses. Its hosting products include shared hosting, VPS, and dedicated servers. VastyHost has data centers in different locations worldwide: U.S.A (California), U.K. (London), India (New Delhi), Bulgaria (Sofia), Singapore, Malta, Cyrpus, and Australia (Sydney).

VastyHost has an information-packed website that’s also elegant, sleek, and interactive. Although the website is available in more than 10 languages, it can only be displayed in English. All prices are in euros.

Features and Ease of Use

VastyHost offers four Linux-based shared hosting plans — Deluxe, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate. All plans provide you with:

  • 99.9% uptime guarantee
  • Unlimited MySQL databases, subdomains, and FTP Accounts
  • phpMyAdmin access
  • Website builder
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Free website transfer
  • One-click installer
  • cPanel

Tech-savvy webmasters will also enjoy:

  • CGI, Fast CGI, and PHP 5
  • Ruby on Rails, Perl, and Python
  • Cron Jobs
  • Curl, CPAN, GD Library, and ImageMagick

The Deluxe plan is the smallest and it comes with 1000 MB disk space, one hosted website, 10,000 MB bandwidth, and 25 email accounts. It’s appropriate for beginners or if you’re interested in email hosting.

If you have a demanding website with heavy traffic, the Ultimate package provides you with unlimited storage, bandwidth, and email accounts. It also includes 64 GB RAM and a reseller account.

It’s always nice to see some useful freebies thrown in such as SSL protection, website migration, website builder and building tools along with a selection of more than 370 popular web scripts (WordPress, Magento, Joomla, Drupal, …). That said, you’ll be able to save time and effort creating a highly functional website.

VastyHost also administers the industry standard cPanel with all packages. VastyHost’s cPanel is packed with all the essentials to manage all aspects of your website like AWStats, webalizer, raw log manager, referrer, shopping carts, blogs, portals, forums, counters, and so much more.

If you need higher resources, VastyHost offers custom VPS options that you can configure depending on your website’s requirements.

Pricing and Support

While VastyHost’s prices aren’t the cheapest around, they’re still affordable given the features and resources provided with its subscriptions. Let’s also not forget the free stuff you get to enjoy with your subscription.

On the downside, this vendor has a confusing refund policy. The website states that a 45-day money-back guarantee is offered with all shared hosting packages, which contradicts with the terms page’s 7-day refund policy.

VastyHost boasts a comprehensive Knowledgebase that contains a lot of tutorials and articles covering major topics. If you want to contact customer support, you can do so through email, phone, or ticket. Although the customer support should respond within 24 hours, it’s been more than two days now and my ticket hasn’t been answered.
