Features and Ease of Use
SkyHost offers several web-based services that include high-performance website hosting, reseller hosting, domain registration, and dedicated servers built on a high-quality 100% cloud platform. The hosting features include:
- 30-day zero-risk warranty
- Daily automated backups
- Unlimited traffic
- Unlimited emails
- Free SSL certificates
- Free domains for one year
- Free website migration
The cPanel control panel provides an intuitive user interface for managing your hosting account(s) and websites, and the integrated application installer comes with more than 500 scripts for popular programs. The free SSL certificate means you don’t need to go out and buy your own SSL certificate, then figure out how to integrate it.
SkyHost’s web hosting runs on high-availability servers featuring Intel processors and SSD technology for faster-loading websites.
Pricing and Support
In all honesty, I have to say that SkyHost’s hosting plans aren’t cheap, but they could be worth the costs when you consider the unlimited resource quotas and 10 GB storage space that comes with the introductory plan. Don’t forget that these plans also come with a free domain for a year and a free SSL certificate to secure your site and boost your search engine ranking.
You should be able to secure a 15-day free trial (via a coupon) to try before you buy, and there is also a 30-day warranty that gives you some time to decide if you’re happy with the services you are receiving. This could be particularly useful if you decide to get a decent discount by committing to an annual billing cycle rather than buying on a monthly basis. You can pay by bank transfer or credit/debit card.
For self-support, SkyHost offers a helpful “help center” knowledge base. However, as a native English speaker like myself, I had to rely on Google to translate the articles published in Portuguese.
SkyHost also offers 24/7 support from knowledgeable expert agents whom you can contact via telephone, ticket, email or live chat. I was fortunate enough to “live chat” with an agent who agreed to support me in English:
