This host’s basic, old-fashioned website is in English.
Features and Ease of Use
Scubez offers three shared Linux hosting plans – Business, Webmaster, and Premium – that allow you to host one, one, and three domains, respectively (plus unlimited parked and subdomains). With these hosting plans, you get:
- 2 GB to unlimited disk space
- Unlimited monthly bandwidth
- cPanel control panel
- Unlimited email accounts
- POP3 email access
- CGI, Perl, PHP, Ruby, and Python support
- Cron jobs
- AWStats and other statistics
- Virus protection
The Softaculous one-click app installer lets you run installation scripts for several popular CMS, e-commerce, and other applications, including osCommerce, Zen Cart, phpShop, Magento, OpenCart, AccountLab Plus, and PrestaShop. Alternatively, the website builder will help you to create your website easily without any programming knowledge.
The use of cutting-edge RAID hardware ensures that data is protected against hard disk failures. Although there is no obvious uptime guarantee, Scubez claims to provide its clients with excellent uptime.
This host also allows you to sign up for reseller hosting, but additional details are hard (if not impossible) to find.
Pricing and Support
This provider’s shared hosting plans are slightly pricey. You can pay for them annually in Indian rupees or U.S. dollars using PayPal, debit/credit cards, or by bank transfer. You get a 21-day money-back guarantee that gives you some time to change your mind, but it’s not as long as the 30 days you get with some other hosting providers.
Customer support can be contacted only by email, and “only after verifying ownership of the product.” The situation regarding pre-sales support is a little unclear, but in any case, my exploratory email received no reply.
Although Scubez has a limited knowledge base containing some tutorial-style entries, most of the links don’t work.
