Raidboxes Review 2024 – Is It Worth It?

Mark Holden Written by: Mark Holden

Raidboxes specializes in managed WordPress and WooCommerce hosting through a wide range of customizable packages. However, its prices and support aren’t its strongest points.

Overview

Features optimage21

Raidboxes is a web hosting company based in Germany, specializing in fully managed WordPress and WooCommerce hosting. It was founded in 2014, and its data center is located in Germany.

The Raidboxes website has a professional design and is quite resourceful. It’s available in 10 different languages, including English, German, Spanish, Dutch, French, Danish, Swedish, Polish, Czech, Italian, and Portuguese.

Features and Ease of Use

Raidboxes provides managed WordPress hosting in seven different price plans – Starter, Fully Managed, Pro, Pro XL, Business, Business XL, and Business XXL. These plans are for both managed WordPress hosting and managed WooCommerce hosting. They vary in storage, CPU, RAM, monthly visitors, monthly page views, and other minor specifications and features.

There’s also a set of standard features that come with all plans. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • SSD storage
  • Free SSL certificates
  • Custom control panel
  • 99.9% uptime guarantee
  • Automatic WordPress updates
  • Automatic WordPress backups (nightly)
  • 1-click WordPress installation

You have the option to increase the storage in each plan as needed, in exchange for a slight additional fee, without the necessity of upgrading to a higher plan. While this form of scaling is prevalent in cloud hosting, it remains infrequent in managed WordPress hosting.

All plans use SSD storage which performs much faster than regular HDD storage. The difference in performance reflects directly on your website’s page loading speed, stability, and overall performance.

Raidboxes includes a custom control panel with all its plans. Usually, I prefer the more popular control panels such as cPanel or Plesk. However, like cPanel, the Raidboxes control panel has a user-friendly management interface. Plus, with managed WordPress hosting, there’s minimal managing of the website anyway.

If you’re looking for something other than managed WordPress hosting or you prefer cPanel or other missing features, you can always check out our top web hosting comparison for more options.

Pricing and Support

Compared to other managed WordPress hosting providers in its tier, I don’t consider the Raidboxes prices budget-friendly.

You won’t get a money-back guarantee, but its lower plans (Starter and Fully Managed) come with a 14-day free trial, and its higher plans come with a 4-day free trial. Raidboxes accepts payments via credit/debit cards, among other methods.

The Raidboxes website is quite informative and includes a comprehensive knowledgebase with articles and tutorials covering most major topics. You can contact customer support through live chat, phone, and support tickets.

Unfortunately, neither the sales team nor the technical support team is available 24/7. The sales team is available seven days a week, during working hours (10 am – 5 pm), while the support team is available from 8 am to 10 pm. Luckily I was connected to one of the live chat agents, who was very helpful and answered all my questions.
