Netmind was founded in 2004 as a subsidiary of FirstMedia Schweiz, a graphic design and online media company. Their servers are housed in a Swiss data center, and their website is in German.
Features and Ease of Use
Netmind offers a simple selection of four shared hosting packages that include the following features as standard:
- 5% network availability
- Automatic data backups
- Domain registration available at extra cost
- From five to fifteen websites, depending on the plan
- Uncapped “fair use” traffic
- From 5 GB to 20 GB server storage space
With this company, your servers will be located in Zurich, Switzerland, in a data center that uses 100% natural power, is burglar-proof and is equipped with emergency power / UPS. They advertise 99.5% uptime availability.
Netmind offers four shared hosting packages – Starter, Corporate, Premium Managed, and Managed WordPress – which include 5 GB, 10 GB, 20 GB, and 20 GB of storage space respectively. All plans come with unlimited traffic subject to the usual “fair use” caveats. What’s nice is that even the basic packages come with five websites allowed, whilst the highest priced package allows fifteen websites.
Pricing and Support
Netmind’s prices are very expensive when compared to international competitors but are in line with local competitors, which may be no big surprise considering that Switzerland is simply an expensive country. Their contracts are available only on one-year terms, but they do offer a one-month free trial so that you have some time to assess their services. Domain names and SSL certificates both come with extra costs.
Professional support is provided via telephone, email, or an online contact form. Live chat is mentioned but appears to be absent. They do have a fairly comprehensive set of FAQs available, although at the time of reading this article there seemed to be a bug with opening some of the FAQ answers.
