Overview

jogjahostJogjahost is an Indonesia-based web hosting provider. They launched in 2008 as a private company under the name PT Jogjahost, which was later incorporated as Jogjahost in October 2010. Today they appear in HostAdvice.com’s list of the top twenty largest hosting companies in Indonesia by market share. The Jogjahost website is only available in Indonesian.

Features and Ease of Use

Jogjahost offers a number of hosting solutions including shared web hosting, reseller hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated server, and email hosting. Some of the features included in these hosting solutions are:

  • Unlimited SSD
  • Softaculous one-click installation
  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • Free domain hosting
  • cPanel
  • 24-hour server monitoring
  • Config Server Firewall (CSF)
  • Managed server

Servers are housed in data centers located in the U.S. and Indonesia, and these servers guarantee fast loading websites with SSDs and LiteSpeed web servers that improve loading speeds by as much as 600 times compared with standard Apache-hosted websites. The servers are monitored 24 hours a day, although Jogjahost’s website does not state what security protocols they employ to monitor these servers.

Jogjahost provides weekly backups of their clients’ website data, but they do not guarantee that all the backed-up versions of client data will be a 100% perfect copy of what is on the website. It is also important to understand that Jogjahost only provides backup services for some of its hosting solutions, excluding VPS and dedicated servers. Put simply, this hosting provider would not be ideal for businesses needing daily backups.

They offer an additional email hosting plan in their lineup. The starter package includes a generous allowance of 500 emails per hour. This is quite impressive and would serve as a suitable email solution, even for larger corporations dealing with high email traffic.

Prices and Support

Hosting plans priced in Indonesian rupiah are very cheap compared to other hosting vendors in Indonesia, and contract lengths range from six months to three years. If you’re uncomfortable about committing to at least six months initially, you could take advantage of their free trial hosting for 14 days or the 30-day money-back guarantee (on subscriptions of at least a year). Note that there is no money-back guarantee for dedicated server solutions.

Both cPanel and non-cPanel hosting transfers are offered for free, but non-cPanel transfers do not include subdomains, and email data and files of more than 2 GB attract an additional fee per domain. Free website migration is only available to customers who move more than 10 accounts to this vendor’s hosting platform.

Jogjahost guarantees 99% uptime, with a downtime compensation plan (unspecified amount) for unplanned network disruptions.

The support team is ready to assist you 24/7 by telephone, ticket, email, live chat or Facebook.  This helpful and courteous team comes across as quite knowledgeable in all matters hosting and will typically respond to your tickets and emails in less than hour.
