Features 2 optimage2

Based in Florida, U.S.A., iBrave is a web hosting provider specializing in cloud-based shared hosting. It’s not clear when the company was founded or the locations of its data centers. However, iBrave has its own CDN (Content Delivery Network), suggesting it operates through numerous global data center locations.

The iBrave website has an attractive design but is quite limited in information. It is only available in English, and all prices are in U.S. dollars.

Features and Ease of Use

iBrave offers three shared hosting packages – Startup, Unlimited, and Professional. The main difference between the three plans is the number of hosted websites. Other than that, all plans come with unlimited storage, monthly bandwidth, subdomains, MySQL databases, and custom email addresses. In addition, they all have the following features as standard:

  • Custom control panel
  • 1-click CMS installer
  • SSD storage
  • Free website builder
  • Free CDN
  • Free Wildcard SSL certificate
  • Automatic daily backups
  • Free website migration
  • 99.9% uptime guarantee

When it comes to control panels, I prefer the more common ones, such as cPanel or Plesk. However, iBrave’s custom control panel also has a user-friendly management interface and several useful built-in tools. In addition, it works on all devices.

One helpful tool you get with iBrave’s control panel is Cron jobs, responsible for the automatic execution of tasks in a periodic manner. All you need to do is input all tasks, set a specific time to action them, then leave the rest to Cron jobs.

All plans come with a user-friendly website builder which contains numerous templates and layouts. With a simple drag-and-drop maneuver, you can build your entire website from scratch. This is great for beginners as it doesn’t require any advanced technical or web designing skills.

The iBrave shared hosting plans are not just cloud-based, but they use iBrave’s CDN (Content Delivery Network). A CDN places your website on a global network of cloud servers which boosts the page loading speed from anywhere in the world. Plus, it acts as an additional security layer against any unwanted external threats targeting the network.

If you’re looking for another hosting solution, such as VPS hosting or dedicated servers, then have a quick look at our top web hosting comparison.

Pricing and Support

Considering the wide range of features included in the plans, iBrave’s prices are reasonable. Bear in mind that cloud-based shared hosting is generally more expensive than regular shared hosting. With all plans, you can choose to pay monthly or yearly.

The accepted payment methods include all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and other secure methods. A 30-day money-back guarantee backs all plans.

The iBrave website provides limited information, resulting in several questions on my part. You can access support through live chat, phone, email, and support tickets. However, I found that live chat is rarely accessible. When I attempted to convey my questions using email and the support ticket system, I experienced a delay of over 48 hours without receiving any response. This situation strikes me as highly unreliable.

iBrave REVIEW: BOTTOM LINE

iBrave is a cloud-based host with numerous features included in its plans. Unfortunately, that’s where the good things stop. Its website lacks information, and its support is unresponsive, making me question its reliability. Before digging into your wallet to subscribe to iBrave, I strongly recommend checking our list of the best web hosting services.

  • Free website builder
  • 30-day money-back guarantee
  • Free CDN

Cons

  • Unresponsive support

ibrave.io seems defunct

ibrave.io is not responding to emails for support. The phone number above is answered by individual who said he is not ibrave.io and said he has had the phone number for some time. You have to login to ibrave.io control panel to renew your ftp account password and now can not do so and thus can not update web page. I am filing a support request more than once a day and emails until I get a response. I am going to look move to another hosting site ASAP. I should have listened to the bad reviews. My mistake.

Ghosting after allegedly being reimbursed but never received any money back.

iBrave admits it made a mistake and offers me a refund. I never receive this refund but they no longer respond to emails or opened tickets. They still owe me $299.99. I should have spent this money on genuine website hosting with proper customer service.

I don’t understand the bad reviews – this is a decent package

I started with iBrave to have a low cost email package (comes with hosting account). I disagree with the poor support reviews, given the overall costs, they do a great job. I've had a couple of "how do you support this" questions and got response within a couple of hours. When I had an issue with a domain transfer (My errors) they not only went overboard to try and fix the problem when it wasn't possible (I had dropped the email address used to register ages ago) they refunded my costs. Without any fuss or bother. And while I might question hosting a critical site, it seems to be perfectly acceptable for a start-up through mid-sized group. Besides, it gives me a low cost option for testing new software / plug-ins without interrupting my world.

Meets my needs but takes a little getting used to

I switched from Namecheap to iBrave. They are equivalent in their features except that iBrave actually automatically rotates your SSL certs for you! That's something Namecheap doesn't have out of the box. I migrated 2 sites without issue. While the documentation and navigation around the various tools takes a little getting used to, if you are willing to spend some time and learn how iBrave is organized, you'll find most things straight forward to do. Where some individuals have looked to migrate their domains to iBrave, I actually moved mine to PorkBun. I consolidated them to PorkBun because they tend to be cheaper than Namecheap and iBrave. I may buy them elsewhere but eventually they all move to PorkBun (until PorkBun changes their pricing). As for iBrave, I'm not running heavily trafficked sites. Usually the first hit takes time but after that, the speed is on par with everything else I visit. I did notice that my account is currently hosted in the UK. I kind of expected that the servers would have been in the US and have a ticket open to see if I can migrate my account to the US. So far, the support team has been fast to respond with real issues. I also haven't seen my sites go down unless I cause the issue. For WordPress sites and other software you install from their catalog, you can get automated updates. This is one nice feature I enjoyed with Namecheap too. My only disappointments is with the list of software packages that can be automatically installed and with the memory size of the servers. I run PHP sites and it is tricky to increase the memory allocation for PHP. That lead me to abandon hosting certain sites on iBrave. Their packaged software sometimes takes more configuration than it should but the few that I tried worked well. I would like to see a full Office suite being part of that offering. There are most of the pieces but they aren't put together very well. Some are old while others are very basic. But if you have a WordPress site (or multiple) and don't want to continue to pay for basic hosting, I haven't found anyone better than iBrave.

You get what you pay for and more… like headache and regret

I got this promo from GDGT Deals / Stacksocial. I just bought it out of curiosity and certainly, lifetime hosting is quite appealing. I currently have hosting at namecheap. Well, I got everything smoothly... yada yada. And then, because I have, like, for domains at namecheap that I don't use, I tried to transfer them off to iBrave. That's where the nightmare began. Their support hardly knows what he is doing. They charged me for transfer, they charged me for domain privacy, but my domain has not been transferred. And if the domain was not transferred, the domain privacy was not applied. In short, they stole money from me. If you buy a domain from them, you would immediately notice that they are substantially more expensive than others like namecheap or godaddy. Best place to buy a domain is from Namecheap. And then when you pay, you would be surprised that they added something to it. For example, the advertised cost of a domain is $12. When you pay it, the total would be $17. If you did not expect this, you would just click and click to pay. Then later, you would discover why it was so expensive. Going back to my domain, until now, it is still not working. And don't get me started on how slow their servers are. Not only that; they also crash 50% of the time. It's wildly unusable. And the support. They only have two support agents named Isaac and Irsa or something and it is through email only. And it takes them forever to respond. And when they respond, they would ask the same question again. It is so frustrating to say the least. Not only would they steal your money, they don't even have decent support. All of their claims about blazing fast speed and 99%+ uptime are total BS. They are based in UK, which is a mediocre country for technology, and they support is in India, which is best known for being a country of scammers. In the end, even if you have to pay monthly for hosting, Namecheap is still the best. They have real time support and they are very knowledgeable on the subject. They can resolve your issues on the fly very easily through chat. iBrave doesn't have that. Why? Because they already got your money, I mean, they already robbed you. If you robbed someone, would you still help them? Forget iBrave and all of these lifetime hosting. They are up to no good. You get what you pay for and something more, like headache.

Not Happy So Far

When I emailed about the hosting before I bought it they were quick to respond. Now that I got the hosting they are taking a long time to respond to issues I've been having. Luckily I tried a test site first. If I had actually transferred my established site it would have been a mess. I am not happy so far!

So far i dont have an issue

I am not a novice to web hosting which made their service easy for me to setup and move my domain to. My website is a C on Gtmetrix currently and has not encountered any issue running for over a month now. A novice will have some issues setting up dns, changing hostname from the temporary one given but for me that is the fun of setting up domains. As long they don't have downtimes, am satisfied.
