Cybersmart is a web hosting service provider from South Africa. They have been in the business since 1998. They are currently based in three different locations in South Africa, namely Cape Town, Durban and Gauteng.
FEATURES AND EASE OF USE
The hosting account at Cybersmart is easy to manage thanks to the cPanel. You can access all features of your hosting plan from one webpage and manage your files, email accounts, applications and backups easily. The cPanel enables you to view statistics on your website’s performance and edit campaigns accordingly. The security of backups can easily be utilized from the cPanel. You will not need any programming knowledge for most of these tasks.
It uses the Softaculous script installer which means software like Magento, WordPress, phpBB, Prestashop, and many more can be installed through an easy to use quick-installer. This ensures that you can create any kind of website on their platform ranging from online shops to forums or simple blogs.
The shared Linux web hosting packages all include CouldLinux OS. This helps achieve server stability, multi-latency, and improved security. Other basic services like SpamAssassin and VMWare are also part of the packages. The security is enhanced as each user is isolated and given different server resources making it feel more like a virtual server than a shared hosting account.
In short, whether you are a casual WordPress blogger, owner of multiple educational sites, and online store owner, or a corporate client, Cybersmart has the right solution.
PRICING AND SUPPORT
The Linux hosting packages are divided into six different packages. All packages offer unlimited bandwidth but interestingly none of the packages offer unlimited disk space. A free SSL certificate is a part of all the packages. Other features like add-on domains and emails improve as you move to the more expensive packages. The windows hosting packages are built on a similar design and are priced almost the same.
The windows hosting packages work alike with unlimited bandwidth and limited disk space. However, there is no free plan in the Windows hosting. The cPanel in Linux hosting is replaced by Plesk control panel for windows.
There is also a free hosting plan that you can choose. It offers unlimited bandwidth but only 1GB of disk space and 5 add-on domains. The free package is great to test their features. In fact, if you only have a small blog to run, the free package can fulfill almost all of your needs. It even includes a free SSL certificate!
The company can be reached by telephone and email only and they have no online chat. They do offer a knowledge base section on their website where you can browse different categories and get more information on how different parts of their web hosting services work. They seem to have taken down their facebook page as the URL isn’t working anymore.
How much does CyberSmart cost?CyberSmart offers plans from $0 to $8. The price depends on which type of hosting plan you choose. You can see the updated pricing table (updated weekly) below.
Which CyberSmart plan should I get?My recommendation is to start with a cheaper plan. You can always upgrade later on. CyberSmart can help you with the migration to a more expensive plan. The increase in visitors many times takes longer than expected and you shouldn’t pay a lot of money until the need arises. Of course, your needs may vary, and you can consult with a hosting expert from CyberSmart here.
How good is CyberSmart’s customer support?CyberSmart is not ranked as one of our top web hosts. But that can also be a result of CyberSmart being a small, under the radar, hosting provider. There are advantages to a small hosting company – as a customer, you are more important to them. You can also check out our comparison of the most popular web hosting services here.
