Coinhost’s shared hosting uses fully cloud SSD servers. It offers one Simple plan as well as a Reseller hosting plan. Both plans come with a free domain for one year with biennial hosting purchase. Shared hosting also includes:

  • SSD storage

  • Dedicated IP available
  • Free domain with two-year hosting plan
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Cryptocurrency accepted
  • Plesk control panel
  • CloudLinux
  • Softaculous software installer

The Simple plan features 5GB SSD disk space, 1,000GB monthly data transfer, hosting for one domain, and a free SSL certificate. The reseller plan comes with 40GB SSD disk space, 30,000GB monthly data transfer, hosting for unlimited domains, a free SSL certificate, and a dedicated IP address.

Customers with larger data or hosting needs may have interest in Coinhost’s VPS hosting plans. The VPS plans are Simple Cloud, Distributed Cloud VPS, Windows Cloud VPS, and Self-Healing Windows Cloud VPS. Each plan is customizable in the amount of SSD disk space, RAM, and vCPU cores. VPS plans are run on Intel Xeon hypervisor servers with 4Gbps bandwidth, RAID 10 SSDs, and DDoS protection.

Coinhost uses a tier 3+ data center in Dallas, Texas that is housed in a former Federal Reserve building. The center is connected to multiple tier 1 fiber carriers, has redundant cooling and power distribution systems, and features a high-level security protocol with retina and RFID scanners. The center maintains an annual SSAE 16 Type II compliance.

Pricing and Support

coinhost 2

Pricing for Coinhost’s shared hosting is below the market average for SSD cloud hosting. Its Simple plan costs around the price of a latte per month when paid for annually or biennially. For this price it comes with 5GB SSD, SSL, and a large amount of monthly data transfer. Compared to major U.S. providers, this price is well below average – around 100%-150% less than normal. VPS options are also priced below average, with the starting plan costing little more than a fast food meal per month.

Shared hosting plans can be purchased by the month, quarter, annually, or biennially. Discounts over the monthly plan t the time of writing this review are as follows: 16% off for quarterly, 37% off for the annual plan, and 37% off for the biennial plan with a free domain for one year as well.

Customer support is provided via live chat, telephone, and email ticketing, as well as through the help center. I reached out to sales support via email and received a reply the same day.

Incredible 1 plan covers it all

With one plan I got all of Plesk and 3 TB of bandwidth instead of being nickeled and dime to death like other companies such as hostinger. They let me pay in dogecoin and I got free domain! Support us quickly responding when I wanted help making custom domain links. Very happy

Bottom line on CoinHost

Coinhost might offer a good service at a reasonable price, but does it match up with the top web hosting companies? We find it hard to say “yes.”

Pros

  • SSD storage available
  • 99.9% uptime SLA guarantee
  • Free domain with two-year hosting purchase
