Blix Solutions is a small Norwegian hosting provider that was established in 2009. This vendor’s internet service solutions include dedicated servers, IP connectivity, and colocation services. They target businesses not only in Norway, but also in other countries including the U.S., the U.K., the Netherlands, and (especially) Scandinavian countries like Sweden and Denmark.
While the Blix Solutions website is easy to navigate, it contains very little information about their hosting solutions.
Features and Ease of Use
Blix Solutions does not offer shared web hosting services, and instead, it focuses on the provision of colocation and dedicated server solutions. Their VPS and dedicated server solutions are named VPS Mini, VPS Standard, VPS Pro, VPS Standard SSD, VPS Pro SSD, Dedicated Intel Xeon E3, and Dedicated Intel Xeon Scalable 4110.
The VPS Mini starter package features 1 x vCPU, 1GB RAM, 20GB disk space, and a 1Gbps port speed. At the other end of the scale, the VPS Pro package features 4 x vCPU, 4GB RAM, and 60GB disk space. Their dedicated servers run on both Windows and Linux operating systems, and their most advanced packages (Dedicated Intel Xeon E3 and Dedicated Intel Xeon Scalable 4110) come with two 480GB SSD drives.
Blix Solutions avoids shared capacity solutions to ensure their platform delivers the fastest possible performance. Their network is designed specifically to deliver high uptime. Customers add their own equipment to Blix Solutions’ data centers, and they have the capacity to provide solutions to traditional data center customers as well as to other internet providers and telecom companies.
Colocation services are provided in several data centers located in Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Stockholm, and New York. The vendor’s IP connectivity solutions include IP Transit (BGP, IPv4, IPv6), office internet access, point-to-point EoMPLS, (virtual) wavelengths, remote peering, and Anycast. With these technologies at their disposal, Blix Solutions is able to deliver fast internet access to their clients regardless of how high their security, uptime, and performance demands are.
Pricing and Support
All Blix Solutions’ dedicated and VPS packages come with quite pocket-friendly prices, and the prices scale in line with the features provided on each plan. Customers who want custom-made hosting solutions can contact the company by email. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information on their website regarding any refund policy.
Customers can reach customer technical support through email, a support ticketing system, and telephone during slightly reduced business hours. However, there is no live chat available.
I have found the customer support team to be professional and to go out of its way to provide complete customer satisfaction. By their own admission, this vendor’s support portal is a work-in-progress, so there is no knowledge base and no FAQs or video tutorials.
