Showing off your latest Instagram posts on your site can keep visitors up to date on what you’re working on. With Wix, you can embed an Instagram feed right inside your site with no extra apps or coding required.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to use Wix’s official Instagram Feed app to connect your account, customize the look, and auto-update your site with fresh social content.

Short on Time? Follow These Quick Steps to Add an Instagram Feed to Wix

  1. Open your Wix Editor.
  2. Click Add Apps on the left sidebar of the editor.
  3. Search for “Instagram Feed.”
  4. Select the Instagram Feed app by Wix in the search results.
  5. Click Add to Site. Wix will install the app on your site.
  6. Click Connect and log in to your Instagram (use a Creator or Business profile).
  7. Customize which elements appear (title, username, hashtag).
  8. Publish your site to see a live Instagram feed auto-updating on your pages.

Step 1. Add the Instagram Feed App

Wix has already created a feature-rich Instagram Feed app that’s free to use. You don’t have to add custom code or embed any external widgets – it’s right there in your editor.

  1. Go to your site’s Wix Editor.
  2. Click the Add Apps icon on the left sidebar of your site’s Wix Editor.
  3. Type “Instagram Feed” into the search bar. (Tip: Include quotes in your search to easily find the exact app name in the Wix App Market.)
  4. Look for the Instagram Feed app by Wix in the search results and select it.
  5. Click Add to Site. Wix will install the app in just a few seconds.
  6. Once installed, the app displays an example feed to give you creative ideas.
The Instagram feed is a great addition to your personal brand or company. You can add the feed to your homepage so new visitors see your latest Instagram images right away. And you can always move or resize it later if you change your mind.

Step 2. Connect Your Instagram Account

Now, let’s connect to your actual Instagram profile so those posts can appear on your Wix site.

  1. Hover over and click on the Instagram Feed widget. (Tip: In the Editor, click the Instagram Feed label to make sure you’ve fully selected the widget.)

  4. Log in to Instagram in the login pop-up.
  5. Select your Instagram account type. You have two options:
    • Creator: Best for individual public figures, influencers, or artists.
    • Business: Best for brands, retailers, or organizations.
  6. Click Next to continue.
  7. Review your chosen account’s features. When you’re ready, click Next.
  8. Select the category that best describes your Instagram profile. Click Done to finish the setup.
  9. Allow permissions when prompted. This lets Wix automatically share your images from Instagram directly on your site.
If you don’t have an Instagram Business or Creator account, you can switch for free in the Instagram app. Go to your profile, tap the menu , then Account type and tools > Switch to professional account. Choose a profile category, select Business or Creator, and follow the steps. Once done, return to Wix and reconnect your account.

Step 3. Customize Your Feed

With your account set up, let’s make the feed match your site’s style and decide which details to display.

  4. Click Design to pick a background color, border style, or even add a drop shadow. This is also a good place to add a brand color so your feed ties in with the rest of your site.
Pro Tip: Keep your username visible so your handle is easy to share, even if people already know it’s yours.

Step 4. Publish & Refine

You’ve connected your profile and designed it to match your brand. Ready to see how it all looks live?

  1. Switch to Wix’s mobile view and confirm the feed looks good on a smaller screen. If needed, adjust section height , resize the app section, or adjust settings.
  2. Hit Preview in the top-right corner. Scroll around and make sure your recent Instagram images show up.
  3. Click Publish to make it official. Within a few seconds, your site is updated, and visitors will see your live IG feed.
If ever your feed stops displaying or you add a new Instagram account, just head to Account Settings to reconnect or switch accounts. Sometimes reauthenticating is all it takes to refresh the feed.

Your Wix Site Now Has a Fresh Instagram Feed

Yay! You just added a dynamic Instagram feed to your Wix site – all without messing with code, external widgets, or needing to hire a developer. Whether you’re sharing behind-the-scenes shots, product updates, or daily life photos, this feed will keep your site fresh and engaging.

Feel free to customize as much as you like. And if you run multiple Instagram profiles, you can repeat the steps for each feed or explore advanced display settings in the Editor. Enjoy showing off those gorgeous images and connecting your visitors to your Insta world!

FAQ

Can I add multiple Instagram feeds on one Wix site?

Yes, you can! The easiest way to do this is to copy the existing Instagram Feed by Wix widget and paste it wherever you like on your site. I recommend placing it on a different page to avoid overlap. Keep in mind that all feeds are connected to a single professional Instagram account.

Why isn’t my Instagram feed updating automatically?

If your newest posts aren’t showing up, try reconnecting your account. Head back into Account Settings and reconnect the app. Also, note that some updates can take a bit of time to appear, but usually it’s almost instant.

What if the images don’t appear or show an error?

First, verify you’re logged into an Instagram Business or Creator account. If the problem persists, try logging out, clearing your browser’s cache, and reconnecting to Instagram in the Wix Editor. You can also double-check you’ve granted all required permissions in Instagram.

Do I need a paid Wix plan or a Business Instagram account to do this?

You do not need a premium Wix plan – the Instagram Feed app is free to install. However, Instagram now requires your account to be a Business or Creator type, so standard personal Instagram accounts won’t connect. You can switch your account type in Instagram settings at no cost.
