At Hosting4Agency, the mission goes beyond providing fast, reliable hosting—it’s about being a true partner to creative agencies seeking simplicity, performance, and real human support.
In this exclusive
Website Planet interview, founder Alvise Nicoletti shares how the company draws inspiration from the “friendly neighborhood” hero archetype to offer hands-on service, from domain setup to WordPress maintenance. With a 30-day free trial, usage-based pricing, powerful automation, and a strong commitment to sustainability—including carbon-neutral infrastructure and carbon-positive hosting through their GoGreen.Host brand—Hosting4Agency is redefining modern web hosting.
Their human-first, agency-focused model is helping creatives stay focused on what they do best, while Hosting4Agency handles the rest.
What motivated Hosting4Agency to position itself as a “friendly neighborhood hosting” provider offering personalized consultation and in-depth support?
Absolutely—there’s actually a bit of a nerdy inspiration behind it, a reference to Spider-Man and the idea of being the “friendly neighborhood” hero. That really resonated with us. We wanted Hosting4Agency to feel approachable, supportive, and easy to work with. Our clients come to us with specific requests, and instead of overwhelming them with technical jargon or expecting them to do everything themselves, we handle it all through a simple ticketing system.
While clients technically have access to the same tools we use, they often prefer that we manage everything—from registering domains to setting up WordPress sites. This allows them to stay focused on their creative work. In fact, around 65% of our clients don’t have an in-house IT department. They’re designers, marketers, or creatives who just want to build great websites without dealing with server setups, security configurations, or backend systems. By handling all of that for them, we allow them to do what they love, while we take care of the technical side.
How does your free 30-day trial with PageSpeed testing before/after contribute to client decision-making and trust-building?
It’s essential—changing hosting providers is a big leap of faith. Many of our clients come to us because they’ve had problems or lost trust in their current hosting provider. Even if they’re eager to switch, the technical side of migration can feel overwhelming—transferring websites, changing domains, setting up new servers. There’s always uncertainty involved.
That’s why our 30-day free trial is so important. First, clients can see their own website running smoothly on our hosting platform. Then, we provide before-and-after PageSpeed test results, so they can clearly compare performance. In most cases, the scores on our hosting are significantly better—often close to 100%. That tangible improvement builds immediate trust. And when they’re ready, all they need to do is update their DNS—we handle everything else to get their website live on their domain seamlessly.
How do your automated updates for WordPress core, plugins, and licenses alleviate technical stress for agencies?
We use the Plesk panel along with the premium WP Toolkit, which is a powerful and licensed tool. One of its biggest advantages is that it allows us to manage and update our clients’ WordPress sites from the outside—without needing direct access to the WordPress admin panel. This is especially helpful for clients who prefer to keep their login credentials private.
With WP Toolkit, we can monitor and resolve security issues related to themes and plugins, and perform updates remotely. Every update is preceded by an automatic snapshot or backup, so if anything goes wrong, we can easily roll back—like a time machine.
Additionally, since we cover the license costs, we’re also able to apply security patches to existing plugin or theme versions without requiring a full version upgrade. This means we can fix vulnerabilities while keeping the same software version, which is a major benefit for agencies that rely on version stability.
Hosting4Agency is proudly 100% Carbon Neutral—can you share how your green hosting practices align with your company values and operations?
Absolutely—it aligns perfectly with our values. We consider ourselves a green company, and we’re committed not only to sustainability in our offices here in Venice but also across our entire infrastructure. Being 100% carbon neutral means taking responsibility for all greenhouse gas emissions, including those generated by our data centers and traffic.
Our server farms in Germany and Finland are powered entirely by certified renewable energy sources. In Germany, the data center uses hydroelectric power from mountain dams, while in Finland, we rely on a combination of wind and geothermal energy. This ensures that the backbone of our hosting service operates on 100% clean energy.
But we go beyond that. Since network traffic is often excluded from standard carbon neutrality certifications, we’ve taken additional steps to offset emissions from our data usage—around 12 to 13 terabytes of data moved annually. To counterbalance this, we’ve launched reforestation and marine projects. We currently support four forests—in the Amazon, Madagascar, Northern Italy (Ticino), and soon, either Southern Spain or the Venetian Lagoon. We’re also exploring algae-based carbon absorption projects, which show great promise. Seaweed is especially efficient—it doesn’t compete with land use and contributes positively to the marine ecosystem as it decomposes naturally.
For us, sustainability isn’t just a checkbox—it’s part of how we think, operate, and grow.
How does your brand, GoGreen.Host, expand your commitment to sustainability by offering Carbon Positive hosting for B2C clients?
In addition to everything we do at Hosting4Agency, we also launched a startup called GoGreen.Host—it’s a dedicated project with its own vision and elevator pitch. What sets it apart is that it offers
carbon positive hosting, not just carbon neutral. That means we go beyond offsetting emissions.
For every website we host through GoGreen.Host, we plant an extra tree, making the environmental impact not just neutral, but actively positive. This gives our clients the satisfaction of knowing their hosting isn’t just sustainable—it’s making a real difference. The additional carbon absorbed by those trees is credited to the client’s website or company, not ours, since Hosting4Agency is already carbon neutral. It’s a true win-win: good for the planet and meaningful for the customer.
How do your automated WordPress updates and white-label options simplify site management and scaling for agencies?
They make a huge difference. While many of our clients prefer to open a ticket and let us handle everything, some have in-house technicians or “handymen” who like to manage things on their own. For them, we provide access to powerful tools like WP Toolkit, which allows full control over their WordPress sites without needing to access the backend directly.
We also use tools like WP-CLI, which enables advanced users to manage WordPress through text-based commands for installing, updating, and optimizing sites. On top of that, we offer custom agency-based scripts. For example, we work with agencies that consistently use the same setup—like Elementor and specific security plugins. For them, we create pre-configured WordPress installations tailored to their exact preferences.
It’s all about knowing our clients and their workflows. We collaborate to understand what they need, then deliver ready-to-use environments that are optimized for their processes. This saves them time, ensures consistency across projects, and simplifies scaling.
What advantages does your flexible, usage-based pricing model offer to agencies managing multiple client websites?
Our pricing model is designed to be both affordable and highly efficient—especially for agencies managing several websites. Most of our clients use our Basic plan, which costs around €140 per year. It’s very cost-effective, yet backed by high-performance servers that ensure speed and reliability. Despite being a small company, we’re able to match the pricing of large hosting providers while offering much faster and more personalized service.
About 90% of our websites run on the Basic plan, around 7% use the Corporate (medium) package, and just 3% use our Enterprise tier. The fact that most agencies are happy with the Basic plan shows how powerful and optimized it really is—many achieve PageSpeed scores of 90% or more with it.
Our flexible infrastructure allows clients to upgrade or change hosting packages with zero downtime. Even when we migrate websites between servers—as we often do during our scheduled infrastructure updates in August—the transition is seamless. We manage DNS settings and perform migrations in the background, so our clients experience no service interruptions.
Additionally, we handle bulk updates and maintenance during weekends or off-peak hours to ensure smooth performance without disrupting any live client work. Everything we do is aimed at making website management as simple and stress-free as possible for agencies.
