I'm a seller on Fiverr, I sell custom full-cycle game development. Recently I delivered a game to a client of mine via Fiverr, he ordered a "fishdom kind of game" for 800$. After 20 hours of work and 3 small revisions I delivered the order, it was quiet for almost 2 days until I got a message: 'The order was canceled by Fiverr Customer Support.
The order funds have been returned to the buyer'. So the buyer just contacted Fiverr customer support and asked them to cancel the order AFTER I did the final delivery. Fiverr didn't contact me to discuss this with me, they just canceled the order. This is something unbelievable as the buyer CLEARLY didn't want to pay for my work, and just simply canceled the order when I delivered and essentially got a free game.
Greedy people work here. Submitted materials for a book. Waste of time and money. Gave them a copy and they threw the monkey on my back. Don't trust them. The writer renamed my book the cover art was ridiculous. Call me a fool. I tried to cancel since I can't trust the writer to do a good job which she admitted. I'd like my money back.
Fiver is a good market place. But there are a lot of bad clients. So, they make it a bad market place. Fiver needs to improve its functionality for filtering bad and good clients. So, Fiver can make there ownself a number one open market. Otherwise, if freelancer regularly feel bad experience then it will make problem to Fiver
I was a new seller on fiverr as an animator. I got onto their "rising star" list without anyone even looking at my portfolio (I know because the counter didn't budge from "zero" on my video portfolio.) Once on there, I was beset with contacts from men trying to flirt with me. When I didn't respond, my "response time" score went way down. When I contacted customer support about this, they told me the poor response score would only last for 3 months, and I just had to ride it out. In the future, I should report men who weren't professional. Fine.
The worst was yet to come. After spending 4 days on the project, the buyer saw the rough draft and just canceled the order. He didn't try to work with me, or even tell me what he didn't like about it. When I tried to negotiate with the buyer, or let him know I would work with him, the buyer wouldn't budge. He wanted his money back. I found out the hard way that fiverr strongly favors buyers. I tried to recoup half the money that was in escrow, giving the buyer the other half, but fiverr's customer support team responded they have no mechanism to do this. I would have to return the buyer's money to him from escrow and THEN send him another invoice through fiverr for half what he owed. This was so ridiculous that I dug in my heels and refused to return any money. At that point, the buyer got emotionally abusive in his anger. I tried to reason with him, encourage him to calm down, told him was just a rough draft - but he just wanted his money back. Basically, a multi-millon dollar company was letting me - the lowly animator making a few hundred bucks on this job (after fiverr's hefty 20% fee from your salary AND your tip) - to do negotiations with an irate buyer for them. It was ridiculous. I remained professional, but the buyer was sending me multiple emails, full of untrue accusations against me for fraud and all sorts of things. It was upsetting. I emailed fiverr's customer service about this harassment, but any dispute that requires a human level of interaction - not just bots sending form letters - takes days. Meanwhile, the buyers' unreasonable emails were coming in at 2a.m. to my phone because of the time difference between us, and I just had to try to tune them out. It was kind of a nightmare. I never got any money, and I just deleted my seller account with fiverr.
Terrible Experience with The person doing my work and its customer service
I had my job, I was promised to be given a quality job, It was terrible, terrible... He wasted my time and effort. Then the customer service there was terrible as well. They did not respond.... No recommendation. Terrible experience, never work with them.
